Is this a OHC engine?
I dunno if you have done it, but while the heads off it would be an easy time to replace springs and what not.

For how little they cost I wouldn't ever want to reuse any of the critical bolts on a motor. Once the bolts are installed and torqued down they stretch, they pull a little bit more when you take them out too. So if you go through another tightening sequence, they are pretty much used up.

Especially on a blower car, would hate to lift the heads...

what about gaskets, bearings, and seals, and colar for your rear gear swap

What about some 1.7 rockers?
Pampered-Z

How much boost will it make. I haven't worked on a ford engine in a long time. last Mustang I worked on was my buddies Saleen, about 10 years ago so I forget all the details.
But on my LT1 I needed to add check valves into the vac lines becuase when the boost comes on it forces things like the HVAC doors to closes. Also if any vac hoses are not on tight they can blow off, so you might want to get now hoses.
What about the PCV system? Do you need to do anything so you don't create crank case pressure or add a oil catch can?
One question. Isn't there some type of sensor in/under the manifold that is a PITA to get to? if so is that something to replace while off?
And don't forget the normal gasket sealers and locktite!

Already got the 1.7 Crane rockers...bearings and whatnot for the rear, good idea..boost is 6psi with the stock pulley/intake tubing, if i put an anderson/UPR powerpipe on it, 7-8lbs wtih the stock pulley.
PCV system...thats something that i believe needs to be completely modified, probably some sort of catch can installed...ill have to do some searches on that
Theres no sensor in/under the intake manifold on a 302...i remember that from when i took my 87's top end apart
