View Full Version : Quick disconnect for sub and amps?

Could someone point me towards some good connectors that I could easily and quickly disconnect a sub box and amp? I found some cheap components that I am gonna throw in the truck but I want to be able to pull the sub and amp when I go off roading, no need to leave them slamming around the back of the truck or getting them wet.

Info on types, where to get, or links to use full stuff for power and signal wires please.

TIA

what gauge wires are you dealing with? Weather-pak or Metric-pak connectors could be an option.

I think metri-pak 480 and 630 series can handle some high draw applications like fans and such, so maybe they could handle amps as well.

Cool. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Chris

You could probably use like a distribution block you know? Mount it and it would just be a screw to loosen to take it apart. Seems like it would work.

You could use Deans ultra plugs for RC cars. They can definatley handle the amperage, there meant to be disconnected constantly so they wont wear out. And there cheap!

Just curious, but what is wrong with just unscrewing all the amp connections and pulling the stuff out? It would take me maybe a minute to take my box and amp out of my truck by just unscrewing the connections on the amp.

That's a pretty easy way to wear out the wires....we're talking about something that would likely be disconnected about every other week.
