Am I supposed to care more because he was a millionaire who couldn't control a car? Cause I don't care any more about him than the two dead people mentioned on the cover of today's paper.

^ way to be a dick, it's more of letting people know who don't read the paper or check the news very often about his death.

I just don't see the point. Just because someone is famous or has money doesn't make their life any more significant than the mountains of bodies listed in the paper everyday.

he was a great guy and did great things for the sport of mma. he gave many small names big chances in the rings and supported everyone who fought for his team. maybe your heartless comments should be left elsewhere.

RIP Mask

There was a murder-suicide in Trenton yesterday, do you care about either of them?

sweetbmxrider

did those people do anything to help others or help the hobby they love to grow? personally i don't know them but i do know Charles Lewis jr did impact many fighters lives and the sport of mma significantly. i think a little maturity is in line, thats all.

Juan Reyes, Co-founder of the Mercer County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, considered a role model to the local youth, and active in neighborhood charities and events.

I guess he never picked a fighter with a future, but he was an area business owner and apparently respected by those who knew him.

t just sounds like this cat was being reckless and outright dangerous. drag racing on the street, whether in a hot rod or a pair of exotic cars, always leads to the wrong kind of headlines.

Because he made a mistake, people want to act like he is just some random ******* who does this **** all the time? hah you people ****ing make me laugh, he may not have helped by being involved in a chamber of commerce or some ****, and he didn't hit a van full of little league players, but he did help out many, many, people who made their families depend on them making a living in a sport. quit acting all high and mighty and downing him like some of the pieces of **** that make the articles in the paper. some of you act like you have never done a thing wrong in your entire lives and it makes me sick.

Im sorry i didnt know you knew him, and know he dosent act like a fool all the time. it was only luck that kept him from harming anyone but himself HIS FEMALE PASSENGER WAS THROWN FROM THE CAR

but he did help out many, many, people who made their families depend on them making a living in a sport.

while all the while making a FORTUNE because it was a business, he didnt give back because he cared, he gave back because he was very smart and good at making money

quit acting all high and mighty and downing him like some of the pieces of **** that make the articles in the paper. some of you act like you have never done a thing wrong in your entire lives and it makes me sick.

didnt down him, i just said im not gonna cry over someone that lost his life after making the most moronic decision of his life

and what is different about you calling the business owner in todays headlines a piece of ****, and what your accusing us of doing?

i have done plenty wrong and have never claimed otherwise

I don't care what he was doing, how he died, or what he did for a living, that is my point. I don't understand why anyone gets all worked up because someone who happens to be rich or famous passes away.

My point is simply that a life is a life. Just because he invested in a few fighters and owned a clothing line doesn't make him Mother Theresa or Satan, it just means he had a job that he was good at. That doesn't rank very high on my care-o-meter because he wasn't paying me or making any positive impact on my life.

sweetbmxrider

but he did affect others lives, we would just like a little respect. honestly the guy is dead. its the least you can do. its ****ed up to not give a **** about a life.

I care just as much as I do whenever I hear about someone I don't have any personal connection to passing, it sucks for his family and friends, but I still have to go to work tomorrow.

Using your theory here, I'm going to illustrate a scenario. Let's pick a rich, and famous person, for example, Derek Jeter. Let's say he dies the same way, just for the sake of argument. The youth of our nation has role models to succeed and set goals in what they do best, and if your gonna say the same thing, that you dont understand why anybody gets worked up about someone being rich or famous getting killed, you are a ****ing idiot. Of course a million+ kids who look up to him as a role model would be saddened no matter how he died. If he did a Chris Benoit, sure maybe some adults with common sense wont feel a sense of remorse, but the kids who look up to him as a great baseball player and not as a normal human being will think otherwise. Same thing goes for Dale Earnhart, but we will throw in some adults into the mix.

Some young fighters idolize this guy because he co-founded one of the largest fighting companies. It doesn't hurt for someone who idolizes the sport to feel remorseful about this.

1. i never said i knew him, and i never said he hasnt done it before, but it looked like yous were making it out to be that he does this all the time, he may, he may not. dont assume hes a bad person because he made a bad decision that ended his life, people do it everyday.

i wasnt talking about the business owners, i was talking about the ******** who shoot people everyday, sell kids drugs, kidnap and rape teenagers, and where did you get today's headlines from? cause i never said that, think you need to go back re-read what i said kthx

idk why this thread has even turned to this, it was a simple notification for other members that the founder of Tapout passed. seriously, wtf happened here?

your right i was soooooooo wrong you said articles not headlines.........well, wait, articles are attached to the headlines....

jims69camaro
03-13-2009, 05:17 AM
yeah, i was the one who said headlines, and i said wrong kind of headlines. if he led an exemplary life up until this point he still made the mistake of street racing and it made the wrong kind of headline. i never said i was above it all looking down, judging those below me because i never made a mistake in my life. just because i have made a mistake or two and own up to them and take responsibility for them, does that mean that i can't call it like it is? of course not. it is what it is, regardless of who points it out.

street racing is wrong. you take far more into your control than your own life when you street race. i think it goes far deeper than that, though, as it proves that it doesn't matter who you are, rich or poor, smart or idiot, famous or nobody: when you street race, people can and do get hurt (his girlfriend was ejected from the car and he's dead). how that makes me an idiot is beyond me. how that makes me someone who sits in an ivory tower passing out judgments is beyond me. he chose to street race and he paid the price. it doesn't matter who he was.

that's how this thread got to be where it is, at least in my opinion. i say so what if people idolized him; he still chose to street race and one dead and one injured are added to the statistics.

Its called a common curtisy whether he was famous or not. He was a cool guy from what I could see from the show, real genuine. I forgot you were there and knew everything that happen by assuming he couldnt control his car.
