We looked up some trails in High Mountain which is accessible close to my house and decided to go for it. We did the summit trail which takes you to the highest point (roughly 900 ft above sea level) with awesome views of the whole NYC skyline, bridges and a portion of the Atlantic Ocean. Today wasn't clear enough to see that far but we definitely will be doing this again. It's roughly a 6 mile loop hike. Enjoy!

That's where we climbed to

Weird outline of a small foundation and other formations of rocks. Pictures didn't do it justice because there were these random cedar trees on top of a cliff. We also found a few used shot gun shells lol. JM called it Blair Witch lol

Awesome. I remember going up in that area, and other places around there when I was younger. I used to love to go to the castles that are all the way up on the mountains outside of Patterson

yea, like when I was driving out in Arizona going up the moutains. Signs said "7000" feet" and I was still going up, thinking "this really doesn't seem that high.

Nice pics Ted. Hope you and JM had a great time! I'm not a hiker, I woudl't go into the woods without a motorized vehicle to propel me through it.

I've always wanted to go up to those castles. I heard there is an underground tunnel that goes from one of the towers up the mountain to the castle.

I used to ride dirtbikes a lot in the pine barrens, so hiking here and seeing the tracks and guys on quads made me want to do that. I could totally take the dirtbike next time
