LT1, AC delete, GM pulley.

What size belt do I need?

It is NOT a 62, and its smaller than 64....

AC delete pulley should be the same size as the Ac comp.

You would think, but its not.

yeah its rather strange. like i said, napa pulley would retain stock belt size. i'll get back to ya tomorrow

The NAPA pulley had threaded holes, and I didn't feel like going to Home depot so I threw the GM one on. I dunno, I will measure it with a string tmmr. The stock belt fits but its loose as hell.

yeah i would imagine so. i noticed that but wasn't sure if the bolts actually threaded into it. well, give me 12 hours and it will probably be the same situation.

Well, one would say a 63

They come in 1/4 inch increments, and as cool as Al is, I would rather not be going back and from the store twenty times today.

waiting on a phone call. Napa has 5/8" and 1 1/8" shorter.

I have a 64 on it now, seems to be ok. Not sure how you check for right tension on a serpentine set up though....

Perhaps?

It feels pretty tight right now, and I drove it around a bit, didn't seem to be slipping or screaming... I dunno?

I put the LT1 AC delete pulley on my old 68 with the 94 LT1 and I don't remember going to a different size belt.

Did you route it right? Just saying because I didn't need a different belt with the AC delete pulley that I added after an under drive that eventually became a Fluiddamper balancer.

LTb1ow

Yea, I routed it right, I will try to forget you think I am that dumb....

The stock one fit alright, it just felt mighty loose....

Maybe its just a stretched belt.

LTb1ow
03-17-2009, 09:42 PM
It could have been, it was a good belt though...

Ah well, the new one is only a 1/3 inch shorter so it should be fine.

sweetbmxrider

yeah i'm not sure but the pulley is smaller than the compressor. they did move it though to make up some of the distance. i still think it needs a smaller belt.

LTb1ow
03-17-2009, 10:19 PM
Yes, the pulley is only like 3" diameter, and the bracket shifted it outwards to compensate I guess.

sweetbmxrider
03-17-2009, 10:36 PM
yeah but i don't think its enough to fit the stocker right, its on your car though you know whats up.

LTb1ow

Huh?

I think he meant to say "Lose weight = bigger belt?" as a joke, and screwed it up because he's little.
