The GTA doesn't have a cd player yet so I was stuck listening to the radio....nothing like listening to Pink Floyd and The Scorpions while driving an 80's Fbody...the only things missing was a mullet and a Members Only jacket.

LOL. When I fired up the Nova for the first time I was surprised that the radio worked. "Touch Me" by the Doors was playing. Cosmic.

My Dad's '78 Vette still has the stock 8-track player and it works. Nothing like popping in the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever, rolling down the windows, honking the horn and going WOOOOO to the ladies.

Never owned a members only jacket....a leather jacket with a sleeveless denim jacket over it with a painting of an Iron Maiden cover on the back...maybe.

:)

Official "So you wanna look 80's" Equipment:

Shoes Reebok or Nike high tops, only laced halfway up and tied loosely
Jeans tight, acid washed, several inches too long
Shirt Def Leppard(or similar) with sleeves cut off
Jacket Members Only is some goofy pastel color or a denim jacket with a "heavy metal" band patch on the back
Supporting Accessories bad haircut(mullet or white boy high top preferred), phat laces(goin all Run DMC and ****), comb in back pocket(so as to "fix" aforementioned bad haircut), white belt(I have no idea why they were popular), neon colored hat(for bad bad haircut days), boom box/ghetto blaster w/ high speed dubbing and radio that couldn't get in a station if you were standing on their antenna(my music sucks and you should enjoy it with me)

I am sure there is stuff I forgot, but the 80's were that kind of decade so it's ok. And yes, I either still own or owned all of the above mentioned at one time.

I had one that was that grey/green horrible color and a lovely powder blue one.

How is it that anyone ever thought those were cool? They came in horrible colors and weren't comfortable at all. lol

it was actually adidas shelltops with phat laces, nike hightops/air jordans, reebok pumps. if you were poor you rocked la gear high tops with the built in 3 different color laces from kmart and had to wait till the first day of school to wear them because your mom didnt ''waste 6 months paying off your clothes on layaway for you to ruin them before the schoolyear started.''

Phat laces went with everything :)

I forgot about the original Vans sneakers. I had a lot of pairs of them over the years.
