You may have enough voltage to run the accessories but not to start the car. Is it a manual trans?

Yeah. It kills voltage to the starter if your trans is not in neutral.
Try push starting it. Then let it run for a while to allow the alternator to charge the battery. Then shut it off, and try to key-start it. If it starts, then get your starter tested. If it doesnt, get your battery checked out, and you will probably have to replace it.

is it doing anything when you turn the key besides powering the accessories?

nah adam it was just silent. i figured out what the problem was...there is a metal part that wraps around the battery that connects the wire to the battery...i fixed that last week so i eliminated that problem first thing. turns out it came loose again and the metal melted...yeah...i dont know either...so my buddy wiggled it around and it fired right up.
but if it was loose i still dont know how it was powering the fans and stuff...
maybe my car is haunted?
thanks for the help everyone

If it was loose it was probably still making contact, just poor contact. You could transfer enough power through the bad connection to run accessories, but not enough to crank the starter. Trying to flow full power through the loose connection is also most likely what melted it in the first place. Get a new terminal and install it ASAP.
