took the TA to etown... mods in sig, best run was 13.7 @ 103... sucksss, i still have that bogging issue and it killed me off the line and from doing a good burnout, which lead to the car getting sideways when it shifted into 2nd lol
also as soon as i pulled in my check engine light came on! code for engine idle to low...? go figure

I'm sure it will get better.. It's the beginning of the race season, theres lots of time to get it running right and see time get knocked off your best tonight!

That TB sounds like more trouble than it's worth at this point in time.

What was your 60ft time?

How many of the mods were done after the tune? Just wondering because that MPH sounds really low.

RT .487
60 2.313
330 5.980
1/8 8.946 @ 82.95
1000 11.524
1/4 13.703 @ 103.72

the tune was the last thing i had done

left it in 3rd... no OD

yeah that 60 foot is pretty high. what were the tires inflated at?

NJSPEEDER

figuring that every tenth your 60ft is slow it doubles down track, if you had an average 2.0 short time that puts you 13.1ish. So you certainly have something going on there.

You mentioned the car bogging, is it trying to go and falling on it's face or is it just weak feeling out of the hole?

It honestly sounds like either something is terribly wrong with the tune or there is some other factor making a mess of things. Your trap speed is what I would expect stock, you should be an easy 5mph over that with you bolt ons.

Auto?

Sounds like a converter issue.

Auto?

Sounds like a converter issue.

ya know... thats the last thing i can think of...

its had the issue prior to any mods, i was hoping it was something bad with the original tune/ecm, so i did all the mods i wanted and got an exchange/tuned ecm... and no dice

guess ill bring it to my trans shop and spend that tax return check that i wanted to keep in the bank lol

Well it can be completely the tune, lock up issues would cause the low ET.

When my car semi stock (lid, lm2) I also had a "bog" when leaving the the line if I loaded the stock convertor. But I was still running 2.0X's 60's.

IMO you have enough mph to run mid to low 13's, but not the 60'

Let me ask you this, how is the car leaving? spinning hard, or what?

It might be that tune also?

cars had this problem since before the tune... leaves the line slow as crapola, once the RPM's get up, it moves

I wouldn't worry about the racing techniques as much as figuring out what is causing the bog. Does it bog when you give it 1/2 or 1/3 throttle or only WOT? You might have a lazy TPS. Have you tried swapping that out yet?

maroman88
04-10-2009, 03:57 PM
i checked the TPS with a sensor tester i bought.. it performed perfectly. its bogging all the time, and i noticed that when the car is in regular drive, 3rd gear, at about 35mph, if i give it gas the car shudders before accelerating

Sounds like you are looking at a TC/trans issue then. I don't know if there is a way to test just the TC without pulling the whole thing down.

LTb1ow
04-10-2009, 10:37 PM
Well you can make a manual lock up switch and see if its that servo heading south on ya.

I can manually lock your TC with my HP tuners...

I can also look at the tune you have in there better as well... PM me next time your in the area.

hmm i know on my year the convertor locks in third and fourth but i can set it to lock up in only 4th. almost sounds like the convertor isnt unlocking fast enough during the kickdown to a lower gear...
