I bought some parts from a really nice guy on LS1tech and after seeing the roller he had for sale, i realized i would be kicking myself if i didnt jump on the sweet deal. It was in Ladson, south carolina, near charleston

all i need to make this work is a motor and exhaust, which i have already got lined up for it :D

Its a 1999 camaro Z28 with 62,000 miles (6speed of course). its in excellent condition. this car will be the cruiser, the T/A will be the race car, and the topaz will remain my work car.

I thank cody for coming along using his 8.1 liter-factory optioned, chevy avalanche and trailer to make this happen. If i buy a truck/suv in the future, thats what id get. the ride was awesome

this car has alot of appearance mods.

definitely looks really good! really nice buy!

2 things, get inlays to match the z28 or do away with the badges. ss spoiler and hood :-P

do you know if they are projector housings and true HID's? if not, that light pattern will be so scattered, it will be like driving a sealed beam lt1

definitely a looker and best of luck with it :)

also, the plate, and the sticker on the rear bumper is a thin blue line..that protects law-abiding citizens from the criminal element.

No projectors. They're the halo headlights to look like the BMW angel eyes that have the ring lit up all the time.

Nice pick up, good luck with it!

thanks guys! hmm maybe ill keep that plate on there then lol. once i get it roadworthy, ill see how those headlights work out for me. they look almost purple and my guess is theyre most likely illegal lol. ill have to see how long the good ol state of nj takes to transfer the title since its out of state. ill have plenty of time to get it ready. worst case scenario (if the title takes the full 6wks to transfer), it would be on the road by the 2nd or 3rd week of may. im still laid off, so i will have plenty of time to work on it and do it right. as far as my plans go, itll remain fairly stock for now, but i cant rule out a couple runs as is, and then maybe do a lid/exhaust. the trans am will be the race car now :D

Car looks good Ron!

Yea, non-projector housings + HIDs + purple looking light = bad, and most definitely illegal.

A good HID swap would be nice, get some projectors to fab into the housings and a good HID bulb (something in the 4000k range is best, 6000k is ok, anything higher just looks blue / purple and has less usable light output) and you'll be in business.

Ron let me know if you have any interest in selling that carbon fiber filler panel in the back. I have a nice berger panel for the car:lol:

04-11-2009, 08:24 PM
oh upon further look that blue plate thing is a thin blue line license plate. the blue represents law enforcement and the black signifies good and evil, and how law enforcement stands between both. if you are going to scrap it ill take it off your hands

Yea, same here. Both my cars were from Pennsylvania. The Camaro I had to wait for the title(Jan 08), but with the truck I had the title as soon as I left DMV(Feb 09)

yeah for it to be purple, its probably like 16,000k-20,000k  definitely illegal

4300k is closest to pure white and has the best light output. hidplanet.com is a great source for info as is ls1tech

good luck not modding the hell out of it though
