so i just got a ticket for not parking in one space, but here is the senario. i work in a mini mall, i park in the back row when i work and take up 2 spaces, but there is never anyone else in the back row except for 2-3 other employee's. its a $50 dollar ticket, i know the cop did it just to be an ass hole because i have mods done to my car. now to you opinion, should i fight it in court (i know i dont have a good argument but id try) or eat the fine?

i never even knew it was a law.....you have no idea how pissed i am

well then you are guilty. I would just pay the fine, there's no way your getting outta that ticket, especially in this economy with towns so hungry for money.

hahah there is no way you will win, flat out. sorry. i don't even know if the private lot part matters. if someone complained, bam.

court costs will add money, if you think you can win go, but be ready with more than 50 bucks. if you dont want to chance it, mail in the 50

its a shady line.. technicaly if its private proprety the property owner would have to sign a complaint or be responsible for having the vehicle removed.. UNLESS its a fire zone violation

no one would of complained about me, im the nicest freakin kid, and of the 2 stores that are there in that park of the parking lot i work at one and know all the ones at the other.

and i just went through all my learning to drive stuff with all the laws, there is not one thing about parking in 2 spots, so cant i fight that i was never informed about the law and should have recievd a warning? if it was never tought why should i be punished right? i seriously didnt know i could get a ticket for this crap

Private property with open public access means public enforcement and rules. I know it applies to all the malls around here, police can pull you over and ticket you just like the street.

DING. The man speaks the truth. The whole private property thing doesn't mean jack unless it's your property.

Either way it's a dick move by the cop. I'm sure he's seen your car there plenty of times and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out you're an employee at one of the businesses there. Now THAT'S the kind of cop that gets under my skin.

Parking tickets like that are written when someone has a pound of sand in their vagina and they need to take it out on someone that isn't bothering anyone.

I am with Matt on this one. I don't think the cop gave you a ticket because he was an ******* I think he gave you a ticket because you parked in two spots despite there being less cars who park in the back. Anyway good luck with it but it looks like you gotta pay.

I agree. If you are worried about your car or where you park it there are easy ways to make sure you are parking to protect your car. Always try to park on the end of a row, if you have to park next to someone else, try to park on the passenger side of the other car since people drive alone more often than not, and try to park near entrance/exit lanes you know are lesser used.

The logic that the cop did something because your car is modded is comical to me, do you really think they care that much about your car? Police earn a nice salary and I would bet that he has something much nicer than your car sitting at home or at the station.

never meant it in that way... i meant it in the way as that i mod my car so i must drive like an ass and never obay the law

il probably pay it...and eat something dum from that station again, but first im gonna find out who the cop is because i cant tell by the signature, if its a certain cop im definately fighting it

If you fight it court costs will just take your money, so they get it either way.

All but maybe 1 or 2 of the Roxbury cops are really really nice guys. I am under the same union as Roxbury PD, and frequently BS with them. Ahhh the perks of working for the town

Besides, Roxbury PD rarely frequent that mall unless they are grabbing a bite to eat at the Vermont Pancake House or attend to complaints (mostly by the ricer hangout at Micky D's).... so, it's not like the cop drove by and decided to give you a ticket because he felt like being an *******... someone called and complained about you taking up two spots. Just go to town hall and pay the fine.

I don't know, I couldn't imagine myself calling the cops and wasting their time because someone took up two spots. I have better things to do, as do the police force.

You're right, the law was broken and the ticket was deserved but it's nit-picking by whoever called the police.

ok so i talked to a county officer that my family is friends with tonight, he got my hopes up for a second....he was goin through the ticket and was like ya i would fight this....then an "Oh wow" he saw that it was an ordinance in the town, which he was surprised, and said they wont give a **** to what i have to say in court and to just eat the fine. he also said there was no witness/complaint by someone on the ticket that is was all on the cop, and he saw it as a dick move by the cop

i also talked with people in my store and the resturant next to me let them know not to park on an angle in 2 spots (out of 6 people, no one knew it was a ticketable), which some kid in his beamer was, after i told him he instantly left and parked straight lol

Seriously. Just pay the ticket. I know that sucks based on general principle but it's not worth your time. I know how much it blows to be written for something so petty- I had to pay a speeding ticket for 30 in a 25. But you did break the law/ordinance.
