Well my gf's friend tore into the car and the rockers and lifters look straight. Then we got into the discussion of oil...funny but the sound started a few days after i did the pennzoil plat. change. Hes a amsoil dealer so were gonna do an oil change w/ that along w/ a amsoil filter and see whats what...He said that the major oil dealers sometimes thin the oil out too much for the synthetics and that might be the reason its happening. If this fixes the problem Ill swear by amsoil forever ...wish me luck.

Did you dissemble the lifters?
Or did you just eyeball them?

if the tap goes away after a while and comes back, it could be a lifter. if its constant and doesnt go away, it could be a bent pushrod

You need to pull the heads to get the lifters off of an ls1

you cannot eyeball a bad lifter unless it catastrophically failed. I had a lifter go bad 3 weeks ago, and after pulling them all they look perfect. I could not even compress the bad lifter by hand.
What weight oil did you have in before the change?

Cant remember the exact weight. The kids a good mechanic I wasnt there but I doubt he just looked at them and say "aaa ok" lol. I spoke to the previous owner of the car and the engine was reassembled not that long ago w/ new parts by him...Doubtful that the parts are starting to fail already.
