Going to check out a Red Metillac 2005 Bonneville GXP at Faulkner Pontiac in West Chester, Pa. next week with 30,000 miles. It looks really clean and the reviews are awesome for this model. Anybody have any thoughts or know anyone who has one of these. They only made 4,139 and it was the final year. Has the Northstar 4.6L motor, and as of right now there are not too many mods but it does sound sweet thru the exhaust.

How much they asking? That's the big question. A great car becomes a so so car when the price gets on the high side.

Hrm...its a cool car, and the first in the GXP series. Northstar's in itself are always fun to work on, and the cleaner body of the GXP compared to older and other variants of the Bonnie deffinatly looked better.
Hopefully its a good price.

I'am pretty sure it can be bought between $14,000 and $15,000 as they were close to $40,000 when new. Wholesale (Gales Blue Book) is around mid 11's so with the Certified inspection and such they might own it for about $12,000. The mileage is quite low at 30,800 so that's really in its favor. They are asking $16,900 with a $500.00 discount coupon for an Internet sale and I figure about $2,000 off of that (in this market) might just fly. I am also trying to get the Formula into the deal for a fair price and that will also affect the net 7% sales tax figure so it's like actually getting more money for the bird that way. I have only seen one at Coleman Pontiac when they were new and was impressed with it then, but I have never even seen one on the road.

Talked to the Used Car Manager before I made the trip and asked him to do a walkaround. He told me that 2 aluminum wheels had curb rash pretty bad, the suede taupe interior inserts had water spots and there were small scratch marks that you could click with your fingernail. He said it was clean but not the PUFF that I described I was looking for. Nice of him to be honest enough to tell me not to make the trip because some dealers will tell you it looks brand new and when they get you to come in, try to sell it to you with the defects and lower the price. They are willing to look for a MINT condition example(Grand Prix GXP or Bonneville GXP) and will give me a call at that time.

we used to have a 05 bonnie sle, pretty much the same exact car but with the 3.8 instead of the 4.6....very roomy/comfortable, i liked the styling of the car, thought they did a good job on it. i liked it.

If they can find you a Grand Prix GXP I would take that over a Bonneville. I can't stand the Northstar engine, too many stupid problems for me. They've had that motor out since 1992 and it still has most of the same problems as they did back then.
Other than the motor they put in them I really liked the Bonneville's.
