Hey guys,

My name is Sean and i'm from Sussex County (Vernon-Highland Lakes). I'm 18 and i'm currently going to Drexel University in Philadelphia for mechanical engineering. I was hoping to be able to have some fun with you guys over the summer!

A little about my car...I've had my 96 Trans Am (M6 T-tops) for a little over a year now. The car is pretty stock. Here's a list of whats done to it...

"Race Ready" Rebuilt T56
Freshened up cylinder heads
Pro 5.0 Shifter
Skip Shift eliminator
Crane 1.5rrs
Comp high tech pushrods
SLP Loudmouth II
SLP Cold air intake
LT4 KM
Hawk Performance brake pads
UMI adjustable panhard

I'm slowly trying to put some work into it, with funds always being the main problem haha. I'm hoping to get my first few runs down the track this summer. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you guys!

:wavey: welcome! I'm originally from Hackettstown, I live all over now though

If you're looking to make a few runs, there's almost always a thread for a meet up at Island on Friday Nights.. Otherwise, look for random posts in the north section.

I'll definitely be going to some Friday nights at Island. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm just a little nervous because I have absolutely no experience (other than messing around here and there). I'm not completely sure the best way to launch, I'm not sure how to time the light, and I feel like my cars going to be embarrassingly slow haha. I guess there's no better way to get experience than just getting out there and doing it!

Exactly, you only learn by trying. Theres no way to learn how to shift on the track anywhere on the street without getting pulled over, so just go out and try it. If you get to a Friday night as soon as gates open, you'll get at least 3 runs in before the crowd shows up, so thats your best bet.

Oh, and dont worry about reaction time.. it doesnt count toward your overall ET anyhow. You only need to worry about it if you plan on bracket racing.

I'll definitely be there as soon as I get out of school! Hopefully we can get some guys together or something

Me, Im doing good, never got around to buying a car because i wanted specifics in a third gen Camaro or Firebird, and all the ones that met my needs or came close to it were out of my price range. So ive been working my butt off and now have like six grand to blow on one, and i have yet to get back into going out and looking at them like i did when i had 2 grand to spend on one. But We still got the 84 Trans Am and 86 Z28. Cant drive either of em seeing as their under classic car insurance(and my parents too). Get to work on em every now and then. but yea i romp around in dads mustang or the exploder(which happens to be on its way out). but ill prob be at the track every now and then with the mustang:|
Got accepted to a couple colleges, but im going to Pennslyvania College of Technology. Going there for Collision Repair and Restoration for two years, then thinking about staying for another two for Automotive technichian, but that depends on the economy.

What are you going to drexel for, you commute there or is there a campus?

I'm going to Drexel for mechanical engineering, and I live on campus (Drexel is in Philadelphia). We'll have to go to the track sometime together (mustang versus firebird)

Typically, when a thread becomes a conversation between 2 people, its best to be brought to PMs boys ;)

Thx

I think I'm going to school to become a mechanical engineer specifically so guys don't have to work on cars that take all day to change spark plugs. I've gotten more battle wounds from this car than I could have ever imagined LOL (as i'm sure everyone else has). It's definitely a love hate relationship!
