finally a convertible vette almost on par with a z06

f you're a true track hound, though, go with the manual that also comes with a dry-sump oil system, differential cooler and rear-mounted battery.

If its not blue or white with a red hash mark, then it is not a Grand Sport.

Alex is correct. It needs to be blue with white stripes. Not keen on a rag top. Since the ZR1 is the big dog, the GS should be #2, not a paint ploy. I generally dislike C4s, but the 96 is hot and was the best of the breed that year.

This is not a paint job, its a real performance package for once.

i think it looks pretty nice, like whats been said, needs a better paint scheme, but also my question is, how much is this thing gonna be?

corvette should think about making a moderately affordable car, something that people who are about to retire can say 'well, i always wanted a corvette before i died, i think i'll get one' instead of the like nearly 100k corvette ZR1, make something a little more expensive than the camaro thats coming out and maybe not as much zip?

also my GF had the best idea for corvette i think, with everyone going retro, why not a new sting-ray vette? that could be pretty badass done the right way, hopefully it wont be costing a life savings either lol.

Corvette starts at a few grand more then a loaded Camaro.
If you wanted a smaller Corvette, they have the Solstice and Sky turbo cars.
Corvette should not, at all, be reduced so that everyone can buy one.
Corvette, if anything, should start no lower then 49k. It should cary itself as such.
If you want a Vette, but its too expensive for you, there are some options
1) used
2) Kappa Turbo cars
3) Save
4) Camaro

its available in every color scheme the corvette is available in. pricing hasnt been announced but its rumored to fall between the z51 vette and the z06 which would put it between 50-56k (if they do this i believe they will sell the **** out of them)

Watering down the corvette nameplate would be the stupidest thing gm has done, and thats an accomplishment. also the base c6 starts at only a couple thousand more than what a fully loaded camaro will go for.

that would be awful,

on the life savings part.......when i bought my trailblazer in 06 i could have easily spent 5k more and bought a c6 if i had wanted to. there is nothing "life savings" involved in buying a corvette unless your talking about just the zr1

im not saying to 'water down' the vette and make it a v6, and im not saying reduce it to the price of a honda civic, im just saying that lately when ive seen pricing (not in magazines) that the price of vettes has gone up since i first fell in love with all their cars in the 90's (and to clear it up, i didnt fall in love with the 90's vettes, not saying theres anything wrong with them, just like the older models better)

and i said the stingray idea cuz of the whole retro idea, i think if they did it right, that it would sell pretty well, but thats my own opinion. i didnt really like that prototype lol, too space age-y i think for vettes, again, myown opinion so i dont want people to get offended by what i say lol

Its not a concept, it was built ONLY for transformers and not for any sort of future Corvette design study.

im not saying to 'water down' the vette and make it a v6, and im not saying reduce it to the price of a honda civic, im just saying that lately when ive seen pricing (not in magazines) that the price of vettes has gone up since i first fell in love with all their cars in the 90's (and to clear it up, i didnt fall in love with the 90's vettes, not saying theres anything wrong with them, just like the older models better)

I understand what you are saying, but no I dont think that the price should be brought down either. I remember when the C6 came out, it started out about 2 grand less then outgoing base C5.
What will make Corvette sell better is to make it better. Corvette team is in a groove, they have a focus, they have a long history, and they must continue to improve the vehicle. Like the 911, it needs to constantly be updated, improved and be tops in its class.

Things the C7 needs to bring to the table is a better interior fitting of a 50k car. Sit in a CTS or grab some seat time in the upcoming LaCrosse. These cars are high 20's, low 30's starting, and have an interior that make the Corvette's look like a Cobalt, which IMO is the worst interior in GM's line up, worse then Aveo.
C7 also needs to aim to come in under 3000lbs base. Cut another 5-6 inches off the car should help. Direct injection and smaller displacement should give us a slight pump in power, but a bigger improvement in gas milage. Id love to see a C7 coming in at 3000 lbs, to make 440hp, and get 30mpg.
Match it with a leather coverd dash, Recaro-sourced seats, Corvette specific steering wheel, 6spd manual or dual-clutch system optional, and I could go on and on.
One thing the C7 does not need to be is cheaper. Id say base price for a 2013 C7 should come around 55k.

Wait that car is real? im guessing its just based off the zo6 but with that sick body.

Well if one of us wins the lotto we could def persuade who ever owns it to let us buy it that would be awesome!

You can probably wait till next Barret Jackson, GM might sell it to ya.
