my dad currently has two mustang restorations going on at the same time, he took some pics this morning

the first one is i believe a 67 (correct me if you know more about mustangs)
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j142/cbrrmike/65mustang007.jpg?t=1241217066

so far he has done the full floor and replaced both quarter panels and repaired the doors.

the second one is a 1965 and is a real shelby gt350, the car was brought in by the son of the original owner and has been in the same family its entire life.

The GT350 Looks to be in pretty good shape, is that before or after?

Not a fan of mustangs but I always like to see the old cars being brought back to life. Very Cool.

The first one might be a 65 or 66, the 67's had the hood with the reverse vents in it. Original owner GT350 is cool!

The wheels on that car interest me. Are they old aftermarket or some kind of now uber-rare part that costs more than a new car?

the center cap appears to have the CS logo on it, so they may be original. I don't know crap about mustang history though.

What's painted on the door of the GT350? I see a "Y". Race car vintage perhaps?

I didn't realize they did auto restoration over there. Do they need a rookie/entry level estimator by any chance? :D

ahh......the dreaded shock tower rot, I had a 69 Mach I 390 BB, fast as hell, but rotted to hell, 1/4 of the car was bondo. The only only good thing that Ford did with the shock tower design was add a 1/4 thick plate around the towers on BB cars. Another goof is the upper Zerk fitting was nearly impossible to reach, may shops just torched the shock tower to grease the upper suspension. Thank GM for using the sub-frame design, all parts can be easily replaced. I know of two other Mustangs that died in the 80's because of shock tower rot, a 67 coupe and a 69 fastback, mind you we were in high school, no one could toss a couple grand around to properly fix those shock towers. Keep us posted in the progress...brings back may memories

These cars finished yet?
