Manny Ramirez will be suspended 50 games for positive drug test
The suspension, which is expected to begin with tonight's game, makes him the biggest star penalized under baseball's testing program that started in 2003.

"expected to say the positive test results were a result of medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue."
This could be interesting.

Report: Manny faces 50-game penalty
Major League Baseball is expected to announce Thursday that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will be suspended for 50 games, The Los Angeles Times is reporting.
Ramirez's test result and suspension are expected to be announced Thursday, The Times said.
Citing a source familiar with the matter, The Times reported Ramirez is expected to say the positive test results were a result of medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue.
If his suspension begins Thursday, Ramirez would be eligible to return to the Dodgers' lineup for their July 3 game against San Diego.
Triple-A outfielder Xavier Paul has been told by the Dodgers that he will be promoted later today, according to The Times.
In his first full season as a Dodger, Ramirez is batting .348 with six home runs and 20 RBIs. Los Angeles has bolted to a 21-8 record -- best in the majors -- and a 13-0 record at home that set the modern major league record for home winning streak to start a season.
doesn't matter, for the money he makes, he should have someone employed whose only job is to investigate the ingredients of everything going into his body, to prevent this from happening.
he should also take advantage of the TEAM DOCTORS instead of using some personal doctor that apparently doesn't know the rules

Exactly. The reason he's using a personal doctor is because a team doctor is less likely to give him illegal steroids.

Heard he tested positive for a test booster or PCT. PCT stands for post cycle therapy, you take it after taking a cycle to restore your hormone levels in your body. Either way its still awesome I hate Manny

Just saw on the news that it is actually a women's fertility drug.
Maybe the side effects from roids + fertility drugs = why Manny is so Mannytarded
I have never liked the guy. In the realm of professional athletes who take their talents for granted he is the far and away king. Now to add such a measure of blatant stupidity on top of that makes me hope he never plays another game again, he doesn't deserve it.

Women's Fertility drugs are commonly used for Post cycle Therapy. He tested positive for hCG.
In the world of performance enhancing drugs, hCG is increasingly used in combination with various anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) cycles. As a result, hCG is included in some sports' illegal drug lists.
When AAS are put into a male body, the body's natural negative-feedback loops cause the body to shut down its own production of testosterone via shutdown of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis (HPGA). In males, hCG mimics luteinizing hormone and helps restore and maintain testosterone production in the testes. As such, hCG is commonly used during and after steroid cycles to maintain and restore testicular size as well as normal testosterone production. However, if hCG is used for too long and in too high of a dose, the resulting rise in natural testosterone will eventually inhibit its own production via negative feedback on the hypothalamus and pituitary.
It is a common misconception that estrogen will be elevated post cycle. Generally, estrogen is below a normal level after a cycle.[11] High levels of AASs that mimic the body's natural testosterone trigger the hypothalamus to shut down its production of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. Without GnRH, the pituitary gland stops releasing LH. LH normally travels from the pituitary via the blood stream to the testes, where it triggers the production and release of testosterone. Without LH, the testes shut down their production of testosterone, causing testicular atrophy.

anyone know the name of this womens fertility drug? and if he got popped because he was on his pct, thats just gay. there are so many different pct's out there. a pct is just a test booster, AI or estrogen blocker. nothing wrong with that.

Not OTC PCT, even some of those will pop positive.. he was probably on a combo of Hcg, nolvadex, clomid, etc.

the mlb has to understand, taking steroids/HCG, whatever will not make u a better player. training harder does. u cant just take that stuff and magically become a star athlete. will it help make you stronger? yes if you workout and train for it, but if youre a sucky player to begin with, youre still gonna suck unless you step it up and train/practice more

i think the mlb understands this, but i think anyone that makes it to that level already has a pretty good training/practice routine, the steroids/hgh make an above average player a superstar, and make average players millions and make triple-a level players major leaguers. no one is saying it will make wayfast into arod
