its got a lot of miles and was in an accident but should be good for my purposes. Modifications
* DRM coilovers (450 lbs. front springs, 600 rear).
* T1 swaybars w/ heim-joint endlinks and poly bar bushings
* DRM 4-point chassis bar (they can't call it a rollbar) welded in
* DRM brake cooling ducts.
* Full interior, customized to accept rollbar
* Corbeau racing seats w/ Crowe 5-pt camlock harnesses
* Hardbar Derlin shift knob (stock shifter)
* Cat-less x-pipe with stock mufflers - very quiet.
* K&N CAI w/ MAF screen removed
* Sparco racing wheel with quick release hub
* Airbag delete
* SS caliper pistons w/ SS brake lines
* PFC brake pads

bought but not installed yet:
-CCW's and toyo R888's. 295/18 front, 315/18 rear.
-oil cooler kit
-z06 power steering kit
-DRM PS solid bushing.

TTP's gonna do corner weighting and alignment next week.
Then I hope to get some track time:nod:

Looks like you found an nice workable platform.....You'll have that thing flying in no time.

No FRC though? I thought for sure you were going in that direction. Either way that's a great car to build off of. Nothing special, so you aren't worrying about cutting up a Z06 or saving parts for a de-mod later. Just tweak and drive the balls off it.

Congrats

love them but they are much more money and that is without coilovers, rollbar, seats, T1 swaybars, etc. This car had the expensive hard parts already installed. I just gotta install a few more items and i'm set.

Great car! I'm interested in knowing how the Toyo tires do on the street and track, my BFGs are about shot and I'm considering either Toyos or Nittos as track-day tires.

You taking the Vette to Pocono any time soon?

Same here, I'll post here when I get a scheduled track date. My car was down nearly all last season with that botched T56 rebuild so I'm itching for some seat time now that it's fixed.

that would be a great target weight for sure.

Finally put her on the track. I put on the new front sway bar end-links today and put the street tires / wheels on today (still get the
TRACTION SYSTEM ACTIVATED message that limits speed to 50 but I just turn off the traction control; I initially thought only my race tires were the cause of that due to tire heights not being stock). 265 front and 295 rear goodyear supercar F1's.
No idea how old the tires are because I bought them used last month.

It rained all day so track is wet. I ran a 1.39 on the north course taking it easy. Fast lap is 1.30 by a pair of caymen S race cars (3.8 liter 911 motor swap, $125k)) produced by farnbacher lowes on 285 slicks. I bet with my race tires and a dry track and a concerted effort, I can get close to that. The car felt very good, stable and predictable, but made a strange noise from what sounded like right under the shifter. At WOT, above 3k RPM's, I hear a sound like a ball bearing being shaken inside a tin can from the driveshaft tunnel. I thought I had loose parts in my center console but nothing was there.
Very weird. its a hollow, tinny sound that isn't constant. Lasts for a second, then I upshift, still at WOT and it happens again in next gear, but again, only for a second.
Is my torque tube gonna explode and injure me?

The brakes (stock calipers with stainless piston inserts and lines, ducts) felt great but pad life is low, so new PFC pads are ordered. Will get new rotors and a fresh bleed of the system and I'll be all set.

where did you race? I would like to go with you some time. I could use some pointers though as I am a beginner

I race up here in monticello but you should hook up with a local club like PDA and EMRA and trackmasters. They race all over including here, pocono, lime rock, watkins glen and VIR. Expect to pay about $250 a day and that will include instructors and about 2 hours of track time.

thanks for the info! good luck with the car... monticello is actually the closest to me. i'll have to do more research about getting started though
