I feel bad for the dealers...as for GM...I hope the crumble and disappear(ok, a little extreme but I have no sympathy for them).

then more dealers will be out of luck.
I think gm just need to downsize to just 1 brand GM and have that be it, how many versions of the same car do you really need? at one point i think there were 5 different versions of the trail blazer, they are competing against themselves, i think it should just be GM and thats it no need for multiple brands selling the same crap in a different wrapper. keep one of each and have it just be GM

They all have too many dealers. They compete against each other and that kills margin. Dealers with 5 cars on the lot need to go.

Nasty, if you think GM killing the Camaro and bringing it back has anything to do with their financial situation you're out of your mind. You're taking your dislike for the car and trying to make it more than what it is.
The Camaro is about .00001% of GM's problems, the car never was the make or break car for GM that people are trying to make it out to be. With a laundry list of management and financial issues the Camaro wasn't going to make a difference. The Camaro has officially been out for what, 2 months now? You can't even begin to judge any impact(positive or negative).
You're right about one thing, Ford is a lot better shape...I wish I was smart and had a set of balls...I was going to take a few bucks and invest in Ford a few months ago...their stock has been steadily rising since then.

We have dealer meetings every month telling us how Ford stands vs. the rest and they are doing very well relatively speaking. Like me and the techs say "Ford pays the bills so my Chevy can win the races" I have a friend who invested in Ford when they were at their lowest. Smartest chick I know! haha

Even now, its still not a bad buy. My brother bought a few hundred shares a few months ago at around 3 bucks a share.
Almost 2 years ago, Ford looked as if it didnt know what it was doing
It had arguably the worst line up of any of the American automakers.
It was selling every thing they had.
And its sales were falling.
What is holding Ford above water was the big sell out. They used that cash to keep their heads above water, while GM and Chrysler picked up the goverment check.
At this point, its a perception game. Ford's product still havent improved that much. New Fusion and Taurus are great, Mustang has a nice revision, but the rest of thier line up is behind thier repsective class.
Focus is still a turd. How anyone buys that ugly POS over a Civic is beyond me. Only good part for Ford is that the Cobalt is still around.
Next year, both companies bring out replacements.
Linc and Merc still have no direction, nor does Ford sound like they have a plan for them. Merc is just sitting out waiting to die I guess while Linc isnt trying to go after anyone, they are just making nicer Fords.
Biggest advantage Ford has right now is that they have cash, so they didnt have to put thier hand out, therefor having a better image in the eyes of Americans.

Has anyone heard any GM dealers in NJ that are going out? My first guess would be Oasis Chevy, I didn't think there sales were all that great.

No, they haven't published a list yet, and they won't be getting rid of them until October 2010 anyway.

My work trucks...I have three 2008 Rangers
One of them already had a MAF failure, and its the one with the least amount of miles.
All three have tranny problems, none of them have over 17k on the clock
And they ride like ****, every single one of them.

That's cuz you guys probably drive them like rally cars! I know someone I went to college with who has a 93 Ranger 2.3L 5 Speed with 201k miles and still running strong. Never did anything but maintenance work to it. So Rangers rule. /ranger hijack

So if you drive it like a grandma and don't do anything to it it'll survive. Rangers FTL

Meh, dont drive it that hard outside of non-stop stop and go driving. I drive my caprice harder.
Id really like to get something a bit different and cooler then a pick up. I know that the Hub stores have HHR"s, Id like to get them, only not the pannel versions due to visability problems.
