My Girlfriend is looking for a new car and likes the grand prixs, so im suggesting that she gets the supercharged 3.8. Well see how shopping goes. Just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these or if theres any major problems known. Thanks guys

GTP gets better gas mileage if you keep your foot out of the gas

theyre pretty good cars, transmissions are the weak link, they tend to go out upwards of 120k miles

I've heard good things about all the GM 3.8s, na and supercharged. There was that recall, but its not that big of a deal. Its supposed to be one of GM's best engines ever produced.

I would look into an 06. I belive when they revamped the GP's, the rear seat cusions were horrid, low and had ****** padding.
06 and newwer have better seating.

l67 is a strong motor. just be glad its not mated with a 4t60 trans. the 4t65 is a lot better but do still tend to kill themselves. i know there was some sort of a fuel rail problem with certain years, not sure if it happens anymore though. but good cars nonetheless.

97-03 look better 8-)

the 97-03 and pretty sure 04+ have the 4t65e and 4t65e-hd

dont go to low with the pulley with only those mods

Scan it, then go one size smaller, then scan it again. There is no "standard size" that all cars can handle. On the 97-03's some can run a 3.4" with no issue, on others it's KR city even with the same mods. Yes, the 04+ cars have a different setup but the fundamentals are the same.
