My 98 has the original calipers. I need to replace them or rather, want to. What brand would you use?

Why do the calipers need replacing? The rear OEM (PBR) calipers are almost indestructable. The ones on my "02 Z28 are still fine after 49K with much of that being road course mileage. Don't know of anyone who's had issues with them. Interested in knowing what the issue is with them.

I heard C5s bolt right on...

i think the only difference on rear brakes between the ls1 f-body and the c5 is that the c5 has a little bigger cooling fins?:?:

The C5 brakes were pressure forged and not cast? something of that tune...

thats it, that and different cooling fins, supposedly the forging rather than casting makes them a little less "flexy" under heavy load

No issues with the calipers. AFAIK they are 10 years old. I want to avoid any future problems. Just doing the rear brakes.

If you have no problems then either get some new or reman replacement calpiers. But if everything is working fine, why bother? Just make sure everything is in good condition and be done with it.

X2. Make sure you have clean fluid, the pins are lubed and don't worry about it.

My 98 has 117k on it and still the original calipers no leaks whatsoever.

I'll keep what I have. Maybe look into some reman c5's.
