Anybody have to pay for their own? Technically I'm an independent contractor so I don't have any through work. Any suggestions on companies to look into that aren't stupid expensive? When I had it through my parents plan it was basic basic, I don't really need rx coverage, low co-pays or deductibles. Just something so I have it if I need it.

I wish I could help you, but all the ones that my job offer are extremely expensive with high co-pays.

I actually work as an independent health broker here in NJ mostly doing group health plans for small business here in NJ. However I am aware of the individual plans in NJ if you looking for a "stripped down" cheaper plan Horizon has the best rates here in NJ you could look at the Horizon EPO or EPO basic plans if you need any help setting up a plan you can send me a pm I could help if needed.
