I know this is stupid but I just can't force myself to drill holes into my front bumper for the license plate frame. I spent a ton of time preping the bumper and filling in all the crack and holes it had before. It matches up to my new hood perfect and the line runs all the way down the bumper. Anyway, I don't want the friggin plate frame there, does anyone know another way to mount the frame so I don't have to drill holes?. I don't like tickets but like making holes in my car even less. I may just have to move to PA.

theres people online that make a bracket that goes under the bumper and bolts to the radiator support. someone should back me up with a link

i can find a link to it, but i have a flip-up bracket that mounts to the underside of the nose. You have to drill 2 small holes on the underside of the nose, no biggie, and i made a small bracket to re-enforce it to the bumper.

The plate will now flip down and retract under the nose, manually, when you want to take pics, and flip it back up when you have to drive it.

i will try to find a link

That sounds awesome and as long as the holes are to the underside (where you wouldn't be able to see them if you removed it, that would be fine. Thanks.

I get pulled over for breathing when I am in the Firebird, so I would rather not chance it. I have family who are Police officers and detectives but in NY and not NJ, so the NY family badge and Detective endowment cards don't go too far in NJ.

Awesome man, thanks a ton. I didn't think there was any way around drilling those holes, this will totally work. Thanks again.

it works well on my car. You just have to make a bracket to support the rear of the slider bracket or it will move around way too much.

I have family who are officers, I know how they work. If they want to cut you loose without any points but want to write a ticket, they look for things like missing plates, out of date inspections, seat belts and so on. Trust me, I would rather not give them a option of writing a ticket if its cut me loose with nothing or give me a break with less of a penalty. I know some people have all the luck and never run into those flashing lights but I am not the lucky one in the bunch by any means, I have probably got like 15 tickets in the past 18 months, ranging from a inspection that expired two days before I got pulled over to a tail light that rather blink occasionally than stay solid, to doing 5 - 10 miles over the limit. I would rather not add to my collection.

NJ Tickets and you perfect together. I feel your frustration. Unfortunately tickets have now become the State's, County's and Municipality's new budget generators.
Personally if it was me, I'd move to a one plate state. Do you know any one in a one plate state you could use as an address and change your registration and DL?Wouldn't it make sense(I use that phrase "make sense" very loosely, we are talking about polititians here) for NJ DMV to go to one plate, but charge the same for registration? Cha-Ching!

Everybody chant:

ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE! ONE PLATE STATE!

Just venting.

i just meant that id rather give a cop a reason to NOT give me a points ticket. knowing my luck if i did everything legal he'd just write me the big ticket...boo. id rather have stupid citations than moving violations

NJMVC to go to one plate, but charge the same for registration?

we're working on it, but it is stuck in committee right now. as soon as it's back on the floor, we can send our letters to those that vote so we can get it passed. i never knew how long it took to get a law passed. it's been three years since it was introduced. it's not a very popular law even though we've been working on it grassroots and SEMA has gotten involved. things keep happening to draw SEMA's attention away from it.

Well I just ordered mine yesterday from summit racing. If anyone else is interested in getting one, Blue Oval industries advertises them on there site for 39.95 + 8.49 shipping http://www.blueovalindustries.com/products.php?pid=99013512 (but they have horrible feedback from past buyers, apparently they take forever to ship and won't take back damaged or non functional merchandise from what I have read) and since summit has that beat a lower price guarantee (and they carry it http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=APR%2D400U&N=700+115&autoview=sku (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=APR%2D400U&N=700+115&autoview=sku)) they will do it for 38 + there 9.95 handling charge. Just thought I would share cause a few of you sounded like you wanted one and it took me a little while to find it cheaper than 60 shipped.
