Saw it tonight, great action flick. Ties the past and future together, and you get to see a familiar face...

lol the familiar face, CGI'ed in. that was a great reincarnation i was not expecting it.
i thought it was a pretty good action movie. i didnt like the little quips that they used from the terminator movies in the past, like when reiss says: come with me if you want to live or john says: tell them ill be back.

Ahaha, yeah they keep throwing thoes lines in all the movies. I looked at it as where did it actually start, since with all the time travel its hard to say.
The line "come with me if you want to live" is actually kind of important. Its the first thing Reese says to Sarah Connor in the first movie. It's also the first thing Arnold says to her in the second. The fact that Arnold said it in the second one was to signify that, just like Reese, he was there to protect her (you're supposed to imagine she remembers that that was what Reese had said to her)
The "I'll be back" line is for pure comedic value though

I haven't seen it. I wasn't going to, I heard some people say it sucked. I guess I'll just have to see it for myself.

i thought it was a great movie... but i mean... the CGI was pretty bad honestly... i would have rather seen them come do a short thing in person... you could easily tell it was CGI

I thought the special fx were great in this movie. The water-bots, the HK drones, everything looked cool. I dont know if they made a real T-600 robot to put in that scene, but it looked scary as hell.

i thought everything looked great ... i just think they should have used the real person instead of cgi in that scene

I think they did a great job of CGI'ing his face circa 1984.
Have you seen him recently? The man is deep in his 60's.
What I think is funny is how big they tried to make him look in T1, and they were able to really show how they really wanted the T800 to look, instead of some 5'6" Austrian Body Builder trying to look as if he was 6'5.

exactly he looked a lot bigger. but yeah if they used the real arnold in that exact scene ud see a fat wrinkly guy
BigAls87Z28
05-25-2009, 09:57 PM
Yeah, the T800 should be bigger then your average human in every way, but not that much bigger.
In T1, they had to give the look that Arnold was bigger then he really is. Thats why a lot of the shots of Arnold are from the bottom up.

I think the first two movies were excelent, and some of my favorite movies of all time. The acting wasnt the best, but the story, feeling of impending doom (esp in T2), the music, and the effects were all great. I also loved the whole theme of technology vs humanity too, it played a very fitting part in the 80s and 90s when technology was taking over everything. The writers of the movie didnt have a very good grasp on time travel though. If you were to go back in the past and mess everything up, that is just how the future would have been anyway. Say if someone where to go back and kill hitler, they obviosuly failed, because it would have happened in the 1940s already and histroy just would have played out that way. But if you were to include that theory the movie wouldnt have really made sense so i can see why they did that.

yeah u mean like, if someone sent someone back to kill hitler, if hitler didnt exist how could someone be sent back to kill him? i think of that all the time but hey if u think of it that way none of the movies would be very entertaining would they lol

Sorry, I was way off. I always thought he was a short man.
Googling says he's 6'2. The T800 in this movie is much bigger then that, but I thought he was a short guy.
Nevermind.

I was going to say, I remember him in a few movies like twins, T3 and kindergarden cop where he towered over his co-stars (no I am not talking about the kids in kindergarden cop :moon:)

6'2" as stated above.
He is not deep in his 60's, he is 61. Born 7/47.
Participating in this movie would make him look like he doesn't take his responsibilities to California seriously, so he didn't do it.

Well, its more like say you were to invent time travel, and go back to 1999 and kill me. You obviously failed, because i would have died in 1999, and if you did succeed, i would not just disappear from the current time like certain movies would make you think, i would have just simply died in 1999. The past right now is has it happened. it can never change because of time travel. But yes that would make most time travel based movies incrediboring

That one scen with the tow truck seemed like a combination of the first terminator, the 2nd mad max and the remake of war of the worlds all balled up into one.

I dont know what everyone wanted out of it. It didnt have a super awesome plot, but the story was already told, so its not like this was going to be some game changing plot.

IMO they fit the pieces together very well but did not make the characters interesting enough. With any good action movie you usually find yourself rooting for the main character, to be honest the main character came off so self involved with that whole only worrying about his dad cause of the consequence it had on him that I was kinda hoping he died. I get the whole thing with he was humanity only hope but if they already proved in there other movies that the future is forever changing whats to say someone else wouldn't step up?. Kinda didn't do anything for me, not the worst movie I have ever seen but definetly not one of my favorites and I think Wolverine was ten times better than this, I kinda wish I just watched that again instead of watching this movie,.
