sooo my idle problems have been getting worse. pretty sure my IAC is dying, but i don't wanna drop $80 for a new one and have that not be the problem.

anyone willing to let me borrow theirs for about 2 minutes to see if that's the problem? it's just two teeny little screws to swap in and out

GM IAC's usually dont go bad...stupid question but have you checked for vacuum leaks yet? And are you tuned for that ported TB?

haha not a stupid question, i actually haven't checked yet. i've had work every night so far this week. code popped up as "idle control system" though so that's why i was thinking maybe it was the IAC or something. and yeah i had it tuned afterwards.

give me the code number and I'll see what I can come up with if I have time at work tomorrow

don't know the number right now but it came up as "idle control system high idle rpm"

i went over echomirage's today and swapped in his IAC, still doing the same thing. we started spraying brake cleaner and when spraying the front passenger side of the intake manifold where it meets the head it gives a little jump in RPM. looks like it may be the intake manifold gasket. does that sound like it may be what's causing my problem?

absolutely could be your problem..although that would usually throw a lean code.

well i guess I'll start there and see if the problem continues afterwards. manifold gaskets are pretty cheap.
