View Full Version : Am I messed up for this?

Just a warning, this has nothing to do with cars...I just really need to know how much I'm in the wrong here.
Story time.
So, today was a Birthday party for a friend of mine. I ended up getting him in the face with cake a few times, but it was taken in good stride. He ended up soaking me from head to toe in water- to the point where I had to change clothes. I might as well have jumped in a pool I was so soaked. Even though I had no other clothes to drive home in, I had somewhere else to go after his house, and he got my new designer sneakers wet- I took it all without a word. I ended up changing into a pair of sweats and shirt he gave me, he was sitting with his new little.. girl toy/thing on his lap, and I was wringing my clothes out nearby. I ended up sneaking up on him and twisting my sweatshirt over his head so that he got a little wet, and splashed said girl/thing that was on his lap. She jumps up and gets all mad ( though she barely got any water on her.. nothing that wouldn't have dried within ten mintes ), and he looks at me and goes, "Are you a Fk'in idiot?" Not only was he dead serious, but it was to the point where not only did everyone fall quiet, but they all stared. I was mortified!
So, I gathered my stuff and left. I texted him about it and all he could really say was 'Oh, well she ( girl/thing ) got mad whether she got a little wet or not, it was a dumb move.' Minus the fact that I apologized immediately afterwards. I mean, I know I'm some to blame, but is it just me, or is was he really messed up for going off on me the way he did?

was it his girlfriend? or are they dating? if so girls get madd jealous, keep that in mind she could have thought you were flirting with him.
but even so if he is a friend of yours he shouldnt be speaking to you like that and embarrassing you in front of everyone

he most likely only got mad to keep her happy/tame. Not a big deal IMO

i would think its a big deal being embarrassed...no friend should ever do that

sounds like you have a thing for him and you were jealous that he had a "girl toy/thing" on his lap.

I agree with this but I also think it was wrong to belittle you like that in front of everyone.

thats i what ive gathered from this story. Im not saying shes a bad person or anything, but it definately sounds like flirting. she just picked the wrong time to do that lol
the guy was definately a doosh for saying what he said too. he shouldve just laughed it off

I've got absolutely no feelings for him, he dated my best friend for almost four years, and was like an older brother to me. Nothing more than that.
And I'm not saying she's a bad person either. I apologized again as I was leaving and she was fine about it, it's him that's got me more aggrivated. And no, they aren't dating. She's only seventeen, she's not even legal! They've only been talking for maybe two weeks.

17 isnt bad, how old is he? i read somewhere that age of consent in nj is 16, so technically as long as the parents are cool with it, he's fine lol.

Kind of a stupid move, but he should have kept his attitude in check.

Again though, first of all.. it's only water. And it wasn't a bucket full. It less than a hand full. There was honestly no reason for either of them to react the way either of them did. I mean- I suppose I don't entirely blame her for maybe being a little aggrivated, but it wasn't intentional. It wasn't smart for him to soak me from head to toe, either, but I suppose everyone handles things differently.

22 thats not bad at all. didnt elvis marry a 14yr old?
I don't think you were in the wrong, like you said, its just water. I can see how some people might think it was uncalled for, but I think those people are stupid and need to lighten up.

Right, well first of all, just.. no. In case you didn't read the other response I posted.. he's a FRIEND, nothing more. And second of all, he's not getting ass from her. They've barely just started talking.

It's really not that serious, it was a matter of trying to figure out who's in the wrong and whatnot.

i once threw a gatorade bottle at the drummer in my band, splitting his scalp wide open, because he was being an ass. **** happens and you get over it. he could've reacted totally differently about it, but he knew i didn't mean to hurt him. he was just being an ass and i mean to scare him by having a bottle whiz by his head.
nj state law is 16 and under, if the other person is no more than 4 years their elder. so 16 and 20 is ok, but 15 and 21 is not. if lewis had taken his cousing over the state lines of nj, he would've been breaking the law and then the FBI would have gotten involved. in essence they would've made a big deal out of nothing.
as to the situation at hand, you'll both get over it. you made a mistake, went over the line as far as she was concerned, then his protective side jumped up and made you feel like an ass. like i said, you'll get over it. no growing up needed. of course, learn from your mistake.

Britt,
It's Joe Enough said.
There's a reason why I'm not friends with him anymore.
This kid is a complete bag of trash and I'll tell it straight to his face.
He can dish it out but he's a baby when you give it back to him. I've gotten him back so many times and he cried like a little baby he is.
I see he hasn't grown up any and dating a 17 year old really show how mature he's gotten.

Well reading it at first and not knowing who you are i assumed you were male, so it was a little weird. But i dont think he should have done that he was just trying to act macho in front of a girl hes trying to impress. All guys do it subconsciously, but most of the time they do it on purpose
