1993 Trans Am

Just picked up a 1993 Trans Am with 36,000 original miles, with a Vortec Supercharger, T-56 tranny with a short throw shift. the heads and intake have been port & polished, the block has been bored 30 over. Vortec headers, to a custom straight pipe exhaust. has OZ raicing 5 spokes(kinda look like C5's) and am going to paint them black, wrapped with a nice set of nito tires. Yellow exterior, black leather interior. the previous owner said that he used to cruise the PIP doin 135 in 4th gear, and that 5th and six have never been used, he used to park it in 6th. the car dyno'd at 572 rwhp, and 612 rwtq. this thing is a beast.

the guy lived a block from my friends house, my friend anthony originally wanted it cuz he thought it was a v6, so i went over there one day to check it out myself, so i saw all the goodies, and went to my friend and told him it was a blown transmission, and hthe guy wanted 6g's for it, and went back and picked it up for $3500. the door panels and all the switches on the doors need to be put back on, the rear seats need to be put back in, the piping from the throttle body to the s/c needs to be put back on, and i gotts mess with some of the wiring, the guy i picked it up from was about to tear it apart for a drag car, fortunately he got bored and decided to sell before he went too far. the interior is completely mint though, their isnt even any wrinkles on the leather. the front mubper cover has minor spidercracking where it meets the fender, and the rear bumper cover has a tiny clack smudge from something that needs to be compounded out.

Thats around a 425RWHP (give or take 10 horsepower) prior to the blower which is not crazy to expect out of a LT1 with head and cam work done, not to mention what other goodies it must have done if the guy bothered to open it up. Vortech are also awesome blower cause they have low parastic loss compared to some other blowers.

One extreme is either a Meqasuirt/FAST/LS1 conversion, or the other option still retains the optical part of the opti and is either the LTCC or Delteq kits.

Or just buy a new opti...

Its leaking out of the weep hole on the WP most likely. Switch to a electric water pump and put a new cap and rotor on it (and clean out the inside, I usually use wd40 and then blow it dry). Once there is no more moisture most likely it will be fine. You seem to have no patients though, you just got the car and already you are looking to scrap a 600 horse LT1? :-?

im not looking to scrap the car, just the optispark and do an ls1 conversion on it, the opti is class A retarded for this car, its a bitch and a half just to do sparkplug wires on a stock LT1, since it has the supercharger, there is literally no room for that

I have seen dyno sheet's and dyno video's and ET's and Traps of cars with similiar stuff done and the only thing I will state for sure, that I know for a fact is, its possible. If the car made 425 - 435 at the wheels without a blower and is showing 5 PSI on a gauge, I would bet money it is very very very close to those numbers cause thats what it should be making with that amount of pressure. Do I believe that his car is making what he says it is making 100%, no. Do I feel like calling someone a liar cause while its possible it might not be the case cause more than likely it isn't the case, no. I would hope that if I state something I know to be true, you guys would take my word for it as long as I didn't come out of left field with some crazy claim. So knowing it is possible do I prefer to take his word on it, yes. Would I be shocked if it was a 420 RWHP car with 8lbs and stock pistons that are about to explode, no :lol:.

ok, this is the same exact thing under the hood, this is as close as it will get until the pics are posted, with a list of parts that I know of to the best of my knowledge, as of right now, I know it has comp cams camshaft, comp cams rocker arms, ported intake manifold, port and pollished heads, the headers at the moment are unknown, from cat-back it goes to a y-pipe, the pistons are unkown, crank is unknown, has Vortech ignition/boost control, Vortech fuel management system which still needs to be intalled. I dont kno wat is done to the ECU, aparently from the last owner, the car isnt governed(im waiting to put his money where his mouth is on that one), it still needs brakes, and rear suspenion, and I still have to figure out why it wont start, so there is pleanty for me to still learn about this car. just plz be patient for the pics guys

sure it is.......but on the stock fuel system? previous posts say its just running the vortech fmu

I guess that is a little on the high side even with a FMU. A stock pump and FMU are good to around 450 - 500. He is pushing in the neighborhood of 650 - 660 at the flywheel to be making that at the wheels but who knows if it has a FMU and a walbro , he would be good til 700 roughly with that set up (he didn't honestly know what was done to the car by his own admission.)
