I already had the 700R4 out as well as the center console and the manual pedal assembly and clutch hydraulics all set. Now I can set up my clutch/PP/Bellhousing, drill the hole for the shifter, and throw it all in and back together. Can't friggin wait!
Got an awesome deal from a guy over on LS1tech who has a performance shop in TN. 41k miles, 30-day warranty, and he got me some odds and ends I still needed for the swap. Great guy to deal with.

Thanks for the good luck guys! It is really heavy  but 6th gear will be nice on those 2hr. highway trips down the shore.

Same driveshaft, in fact I picked up an aluminum one a few months ago I'll finally get to throw in. Spohn, Skulte, and a couple of others make a crossmember for thirdgens using a T56 but Skulte is the only one who makes one for use with Hooker Super Comp LT headers as well, so I had to go with that one. It's an awesome design, the crossmember tucks up into the trans tunnel so the exhaust can run underneath it.

Reverse and brake lights will have to get rewired, no big deal though.

T5 wouldn't work with the 350, I made just under 300 rwtq through the automatic.

Why brake lights?
Pigtails for reverse light, reverse lockout, vss.: http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/ls1_pigtails.aspx

Awesome website, thanks! I didn't really examine the connectors for the brake lights but briefly looking at them they look different.
What does the VSS do? Or is that what sends the signal for the electrical speedometer? Mine is mechanical and I saw converters go for a few hundred bucks, best option is probably just upgrade to an electrical speedometer along with the other gauges.
there is a company that makes a box that drives a speedometer cable off an electronic signal from the VSS. I forget the name of the company though.

yeah the vss is an electronic signal for the speedo. cable x makes a kit. its like 300 for a module. autometer makes one too

Just have to bleed the slave cylinder, mount the resevoir to the firewall, drive shaft and Y-pipe, fill the trans with fluid...then it's drivable. Then I have to do the wiring and make the hole for the shifter pretty and put the console back together, I plan on driving it tomorrow 8-)

Well, IT WORKS! I still have to wire up the "N" safety and everything else, waiting on those pigtails, but I had the rear in the air and tried all the gears and everything is awesome!

does the car run? i was wondering if the VSS will work with your TPI
Teds89IROC
06-13-2009, 09:15 PM
Yea, I had it running through all the gears with it up in the air. The VSS won't work because I have a mechanical gauge but I will be upgrading so I ordered the T56 package from EFI connection with all three pigtails, the price is right.

VSS = ECM input as well.
Nice on the kit, I wired the RLO to my brake lights, but now I have second thoughts and may add a momentary switch.
Teds89IROC
06-13-2009, 09:18 PM
It should work, the SD TPI's (91-92) were electric speedo. It's no big deal, I haven't had an accurate speedo in years and some of that time I didn't even have it at all lol
BonzoHansen
06-13-2009, 09:26 PM
i hear that I have no speedo right now either.
Teds89IROC
06-13-2009, 09:33 PM
Why second thoughts on the RLO to the brakes? How is it wired up on the 4th gens?
BonzoHansen
06-13-2009, 09:51 PM
ECM handles it in 4th gens. It seems when I hit exits hard if I brake in and down shift to 5th sloppy shifting = gear grind. lol.

06-13-2009, 10:13 PM
Gotcha. I'll just wire it to the brake lights for now and see how it goes lol
