I was offered a job today and I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I'm cut out for sales since I have a soul, lol. I can be a people person even though I hate them. :D

It'd be a great opportunity since they'd be the only Chrysler dealership in the area...I just don't know if I'm cut out for it.

Is anyone in the biz? Tips? Advice?

Thanks. This could be a great opportunity but to be honest I'm scared to death going outside of my comfort zone(auto body and/or office type setting).

Did it, hated it. I'm a people person too I'm great with the public, so thankfully I went back to auto parts. If you care about the public, you're not gonna be cut out for it.

I consider A car salesmen on the same level as a stripper, your hollow on the inside, your fake, you tell them what they want to hear, and in the end they get screwed out of their money by you.

Take it if you need a job for now, but if you dont like it, look for a job on the side and jump that train if you want to.

Its a job and if you can find one that pays decent enough to consider it, go for it. I have thought about it, but I am a little bitch and wont give up racing to work Saturdays!!

if you have a soul, some people will actually appreciate some honesty in a car salesman. It has potential to pay well, but it all depends on the dealer and customer base. If you need the job, take it. If you dont like it you can always leave.

as with everything, there's the good, the bad & the ugly.
My GM salesmen have been outstanding & I refer people to them constantly. I can't say the same for the foreign car salesmen though... My salesman made a great and lasting impression on me, so I refer everyone I know to him whenever they're in the market for a vehicle.

I say go for it.

yea if you stay true to yourself and even give them a little warning if it's no good do it bc i had a salesman like that who was straight up about everything i mean just stay true to you and don't be a fake phony salesman bc ppl hate that and soo will you

Lots of hours especially when your starting out I think. Unreliable pay. If you can build up a loyal customer base I think you could make out well. It could just take a while. If you try it good luck to you.

Bottom line is the hours are tough, endless hours of boredom with short burst of chaos mixed in. I did it for 5 years and made a ton of money and friends. You don't have to be scum to do it or be succesful. It isn't heavy lifting but can be very stressful also.
If you need a job.... do it.
And the most important thing you can do to ensure your sucess is LISTEN! If your going to do it I could give you some pointers to get up in running quick.

I quit doing it because I had to raise my son by myself and couldn't do the hours.

Oh and if your single it is very fun especialy if your selling VW's
