View Full Version : What's it worth?

I don't know if this is the right forum so if it has to be moved so be it. I was just wondering how much my car would be worth. It's a 1972 Firebird. 350 pontiac motor. Has an aftermarket formula hood. The front fender is banged up but i have a replacement. It would need a paintjob. The interior is immaculate, there's hardly anything to do with it. It has leather seats and some type of race-like bucket seats that are also leather. Suspension was all redone with Belltech. Just wondering what it would go for because i had someone come by during a garage sale and was very interested in it. I'm gonna throw out a kinda high price cause im not 100% on selling it. The guy i got it off of said he was offered 4500 cash for it. Can anyone give me an idea of what it's worth?

Edit - 120,000 miles on it. Grant steering wheel if it makes a difference

I am no expert in older cars and their worth, but to me, if the car is not worth much sentimentally to you and someone offered you 4500 cash for a 120k mile car, I would be more than happy to sell.

youd have to find the right person..looking for a project and stuff that seems like a good car to start with

Yup no rust either anywhere. I hear the trunk rots a little and its clean as a whistle.

X 3= Take the $4,500 and run. Most collectors are looking to restore a car like that, and ALL the aftermarket stuff is worth zilch!

I wasn't offered that the previous owner supposedly was. But if i can get that much i may get rid of it.

any pics available? i know this is not the place to say "it's for sale" but if you could give me an idea of what it looks like, you may not need to declare that it's for sale.

pics of what you claim to be solid (not that i doubt you, specifically, but one person's solid is another person's flintstone-mobile), including the trunk and any under side pics would be helpful. bonus if you can get it up on a lift for a photo-op...

The only thing i have right now is halfway decent pics with my phone. My digital camera takes just as good or pics lol. I may actually be able to get it on a lift for some pictures. You interested? :-P

i wouldn't make you go through the trouble of getting decent pics if i wasn't.

i've been looking around for an early '70s 'bird or camaro for a while. my daughter's car won't be here after this summer (well, it will be stored here, but it will drop off of the 'to-do' list) and i am in need of another project. bonus if i can drive it and work on it, like i've been doing with my '69 for a few years now.

i've not gotten involved with the body work on the '69, knowing what i might find when i start stripping paint off of it. i mean, it's not falling apart at the seams, so i will continue to enjoy it for a few more years, or until i can't stand to see the rust in the passenger side door sill...

short answer: yes.

Alright sounds good. Like i said i'm not 100% on selling it. But i should be able to take it either to my friends house or shop to get it on the lift to take some pics for ya.
