Did anyone else attend the show in Holmdel at the Dearborn Market yesterday the 28th. Its is suppose to be a fund raiser for the blind. After coming home from Carlisle I decided to attend this show again. Last time I did was in 2007 and I was a bit disappointed then. I decided to do this one since I had nothing else to do and see if things changed. I stood by my ride all evening and not one supposed judge came around. And when they called out the winners I say about 75% of them were the same people who won when I was there in 2007. and the most modern car picked was a 2002 vette that the announcer knew exactly who he was. I mean damn can you make it any more obvious. The rest picked were 70's and older. They should make it just an antique show then if thats all there interested in. I know this is suppose to be a fund raiser but they should be fair to all who attended. This is already happened a few times this year. When you see judges coming around high fiving other contestants you already know the end results. This is getting quite frustrating now having to come accross this nonsense. Anyone else have this experience yet?

It happens all the time at the car shows around here. The "club" who happens to be having the car show seems to come out with more trophies then joe blow that came off the street with a car that should of won. Alot of times clubs will have the winner already picked before the show starts, which is a real shame, especially when Vette clubs are running it (no South Jersey Corvette clubs mentioned...)

This is why I never go to shows and worry about the judging or winning anything. We really have no idea how the judging is being done or by whom. So I just go and enjoy the show. But I have to admit that I'm way behind this year and have only made it to 1 show or cruise so far.

yea pro90rs cam and i deal with that alot around us too at shows. its always the same people winning or you hear "well its harder to maintain an older car" i guess these people havent seen the prices of new ****. its annoying i agree with you and its something that will never go away.

My friends and I were at the show...we saw your car there and thought it looked amazing. Sorry to hear you didn't win. I did tell my wife that I wanted your Trans Am instead of my Camaro.

In the last two years I have not won a single trophy or award from any of the shows that are popular vote. Even if mine is almost 20 years old, it is still too new for the crowd that loves the late 50's and early 60's stuff. Just look at the HUGE Cops and Rodders show and see who the people, that bought the trophies, vote for. They give out 85 awards and we get squat. I had a 1969 Corvette (in Riverside Gold) with factory side exhaust and an L88 hood with a 350 LT-1 motor that was all done up with chrome accents and was in modified class. When you went to an NCCA show, there were at least 2-3 judges per car that spent over 10 minutes looking at everything from dirt under the fender lips, under the dash, under the bumpers and places you would not think off. If you won something at these shows, you know you had a special car. Plus the trophies weighed about 10 pounds and were real marble and wood and looked like something you were proud to win. Today you spend $20 to get in and they give you a plaque that a Cub Scout Troop made out of cardboard. Just my :2cents:

It's not that I'm mad I dont win a trophy at a show, it just makes me mad that they are in my eyes rigged, and that really the voting should be left up to the spectators, not the club judges, just to make it more open minded, afte all, arent all votes a popular vote?

I attended a show in Old Bridge Nj hosted by a car club called Infamous Creationz. Talk about picking there own people to win lol. It was just so obvious too. My firebird was placed in there full sized domestic category. A tricked out 300 c took 1st. I saw that coming since he does have about 100 grand into it and a friggin gazillion TVs and motorized hood and trunk. The second went to a Grand am that looked like was put together in a week. Here are the pictures of the 2 cars that day. Please tell me just by looking at them how in the hell that Grand am came even close to placing over mine. I understand you win some you lose some, but damn its like a big FU in your face when its like this.
