Anyone use one in their ride?

Just saw one these recently at a car show and was curious... seems kinda cool..run about $25-30 a piece depending where you look...

Not really helpful since you can't see it when you are in the car. Nicer to look at than a stock cap though.

Probably just for show and not too accurate- especially since some temp sensors are in the head, not at the top of the radiator.

Sorry to give an opinion that goes against all the experts here who've been building cars since before Henry Ford was on the scene,:rolleyes: but I've been running one of those caps on my AMX for years, and I've found it to be helpful when working under the hood and wanting to moniter coolent temps w/o having to continue running back to the interior to check the gauge.

How accurate is it compared to the gauge? Pretty close?

I never compared 'em per-say, but the old eyeball meter and knowing my car's set up found it to be accurate enough for me to trust it. I found the rad cap gauge to be handy when I was setting the car up w/ a new rad and electric fan set up, or working under the hood on other stuff.
