I've been experimenting with HDR photos lately and decided to take a few of the bird. Lemme know what you think

They seem chalky, the car almost looks dusty

yea there's almost a cartoonish aspect to them, just an experiment, guess i'll stick to landscapes if i feel like taking any more HDR shots

definitely like the 4th one and the sky was great for it. who's software were you using? or did you do it yourself?

I used Photomatix Pro 3.0, its pretty straightforward, you just have to mess with the settings to get what you want

The 4th one is nice but I think I like the 2nd one better.

yeah its a good program. you could always do your own by shooting 1/2 and 1 step over and under exposed, then layer the photos.

yea i shot at -2,0,+2 EV and then put them in photomatix and tone mapped the photo

i think the best hdr pics are where you can barely tell that they are hdr, and it just looks like a photo with very full colors

thats probably why it looks so cartoonish. try just 1 step or 1/2 step and see if it looks a little more "realistic" also, tone mapping 5 will look much better than 3.

It makes the sky look very cool, but everything else is pretty dark...

They came out pretty good. I like the first and second one. I would try again at like -1 and +1 to see how it comes out. Try and get the car brighter and less chalky

I took some people's advice on taking the shot with 5 pics instead of 3 and Ithink they came out a lot better. Definitely doesn't look cartoonish anymore. These were taken after the OTB meet on sunday. I know their really similar the other ones i took had too much movement and I couldn't process them correctly
