what's it worth?

I am interested buying a clean low mileage M6 hardtop SS within a reasonable driving distance to South Jersey. Nothing with crazy modifications; this will be my daily driver.

While surfing the net looking for cars I stumbled upon a 1997 30th Anniversary SS hardtop 6 speed w/ 1,050 miles on it. What would you figure this car is worth? I know it's pretty rare but, the guy has it listed for $25,500.

I have listed a "WTB" post on LS1Tech.com but, most of those cars seem to be in Texas and are all modded out.

It might be worth $15-20K to the right person. But if you plan on driving the car and racking up the miles then it's not worth more than $15K IMO. That's more of a collector car so driving it will knock down the value really fast. You could always convert a t-top car back to a hardtop if you can't find one. I don't like t-tops and found a 96 SS hardtop that I had for a year. But it was an automatic.

97 Anniv. SS though you dont see many really isnt that rare. Its just an ordinary white Lt1 SS w/ hugger stripes and houdstooth int.. Great mileage but the tech. imo is too old to pay 25,500. I would look for a low mileage LS car if i was you.

I've been looking but I really want a low mileage, 6 speed, hardtop SS and would prefer that it not be highly modded. I am also not interested in any black or red cars; so you see I am pretty specific about what I want and am having a real hard time locating that certain car.

I love the looks of that '97 Anniversary car but, feel the price is too high for me to use the car as a DD. Like it was mentioned in an earlier reply, that car should be put in a collection or museum. According to the ad, there were only 167 6 speed hardtop anniversary SS Camaros built in '97.

I think you need the side supports above the windows and the hardtop isn't even metal, I think it's plastic. You could probably get the parts from a wrecked 6 cyl hardtop but you would obviously need to paint the top to match whatever you end up finding. You would also need the interior pieces as well.

yeah all 4th gen cars start out with the ttop structure...and the tops is some fiberglass or whatever the crap they use...plenty of hardtop people cut ttops into theirs....its possible to go the other way.
