have someone push inward on the axle and take a magnet and flat screw driver and pull em' out

Needle nose or take a cheap screwdriver and bend the end into a hook but like stated the axle needs to be pushed all the way in. Good luck.

Get a magnetic wand, have someone push in on the end of the axle, and spin it until the magnet grabs it and slides out. Make sure the spider gears don't take a dump into your drain pan too. I took the C-clips off my 8.25 in the Cherokee this way when I did the rear disc conversion, and it worked out great!

ive never had any trouble with them, as stated push the axle in and pull the clip out.

They can be a pain sometimes on traction control rears due to the reluctor ring holding it back from pushing in very far but as stated its not too bad on a standard 3 channel rear.

or do it the white mans way and use a big c-clamp. Pushes the axles in so far, that the c-clips literally fall right out.

nothing, my friend referred to it as that, and I find it funny. A c-clamp wasn't made to do push axles into carriers, so it is kinda odd, and white man seemed to fit it.

I've had to use a c clamp before but only on a LT1 4 channel rear which I haven't done many of but whatever works, works.

yeah it was easy i didnt realize the were loose in there like that i thought it wraped more around the axle like this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/images/mks-c-clip-med.jpg

i was working on an extra rear that didnt have backing plates plus it was 3 channel so i had plenty of room and i had the open end of the c clip facing me trying to pry it out/off

C-clamps? Yikes. I've never ever had a problem with removing a c-clip axle.

I found on 4th gens with 4-ch setups you have to remove the sensors from the backing plate to allow the axle to move in a bit more.

LS1's 4 channel for whatever reason give enough room for easy removal of the c-clip but 4 channel LT1 rears do not and I didn't use a stick of dynomight on the axle just a clamp.
