Hey there,
I have an 83 Pontiac Trans Am 5.0 305 Crossfire FI, Disc Brakes all around.
I need to replace the Emergency Break Cables, There are 2 sizes,
The sizes are 1103mm or 1205mm - 3 auto stores and dealership dont know -
Does anyone know which ones Id need?
Thanks

Wouldn't you need both since the rear calipers are offset (one leads, one trails)?

I'm really not sure, unless you can get the store to order both in, take both in and match them to yours.

I will just warn you that that I never succeeded in getting the parking brake to work the those iron calipers. I swapped to 1989 and later PBR bakes.

Thanks for your reply -but are you sayin my right side and left side should be different lengths anyhow? Now its even more confusing in which lenghts to get. One more thing - Are you say just dont even bother -I mean I havent had an emergency break anyhow and I never really needed it - see I was getting ready to get my calibers changed and a mechanic tells me, "Im telling ya, make sure you get new emergency brake cables on there!" and I said but..and he said just get them.

those calipers take a dump fast if you do not use the e-brake on a regular basis. Plus the e-brake helps keep them adjusted. mine worked fine.

I'd get them all and return the ones that do not work. most auto parts stores will work with you on that.

Oh yeah, pics please.
