I need to mount some tires...

Yea I know the process is pretty simple and can be done anywhere for 50 bucks a pop - at least that's what I was quoted last time. I walked away and laughed. Well now I need to mount and balance 8 tires, at 50 bucks a pop that's kinda pricey.

Does anyone here know a place, or maybe willing to do it themselves (if you work in an appropriate place). I'm willing to throw you some money of course, just 50 bucks per tire seems pretty damn steep.

That is a bit steep. The place down the street charges $16 for regular balance and $25 for the road force balance. Something along those lines anyway

Yeah, I've seen places charging by the inch for wheels over 15. So I can see ~$35 a wheel mount & balance. $50 is steep to me. Is that nitrogen too?

No its not for my car. I discovered that the caddy and accord had basically bold tires (thread showing in some) so I told my parents to buy some tires. They will be arriving today, so now I will have to find a place to put them on (I know they won't).

50 per tire quote is from the time I tried to mount some 245's for the T/A... ended up doing all the mounting and balance for a total of 20 bucks. However, that deal is not on the table anymore because I don't work for Nissan no more.

Well the point of this thread is to find someone who doesn't and wants to put some extra money in their pocket. extra 100 - 150 bucks won't hurt ya. Plus, not like its a long and hard job :lol:

Yea "locally" they were offering me same tires for 75 to 60 bucks more expensive. Savings of at least 10 bucks!!! :lol: Tirerack > local rip off tire places.

That was for the caddy, I didn't even inquire about the honda. After they told me 180 bucks per tire I stopped paying attention.

I don't remember what I"ve paid, but the local STS mounted and balanced tires for us many times when we bought them from tirerack. But after a while, it's actually cheaper/easier to buy them locally and have them mounted and balanced and installed right there, since you won't pay for shipping, and they'll cut a break on the cost, usually. In fact, the last time I had gone to STS to buy tires (couldn't wait to have them shipped), it ended up being cheaper than had I bought them online and brought them to be mounted and balanced.

sears my friend for a standard tires under 18 inches that is not super wide or low profile it is 11.25 to balance and 8.00 to mount per tire
that is for up to either 225 or 235, 245-275 is 13.99 balance and 285 and up is 34.99.
Call and double check with your local sears or if you in hamilton any time let me know and I can get ya free mounting.
IIRC roadforce balance is 46.00 per tire.....

17's (235's and 255's) for the caddy, and 15's (205's) for the honda. Caddy has tpms Honda doesn't.

Dunno about the shore, I would come but ultimately I need both of their vehicles with me - and I'm not sure of their schedule.

Yea the car already has all the sensors. Firestone broken them last time, don't ask me how, so they are practically brand new! :lol:
