isnt there some way to use the opti just for its sensor and have coil packs, my opti spark is dead and im looking for alternatives

Sure.

Usually the optical part is the part that dies, so you are still in need of an opti. Get a GM one, and use it until you get another 800 ish to run an LTCC setup.

However, I would recommend just getting a new opti, coil, and wires. See where that takes you, and how much it sets you back.

yea do a electrick water pump so it solves the leaking on the opti problem and you shouldnt have to go coil on plug... but even if you dont go elec water pump... deff replace that pump while you have it off its probably why the opti went in the first place... it only takes on drip to fry that thing... and its preventative maintenance...

But yes, and EWP would be a good way to solve the weep hole leakage problem, however, it will require more work than you really want. So if the stock waterpump is leaking, replace it, if not, leave it.

Make sure you check all the connections, Coil wire and harness don't have any corrosion or such. also make sure your ign. module are tight, grounds are good.

Are you getting Hi/low RES codes?
