Aside from torrents.

Just got a brand spankin new computer and don't trust limewire, etc... what's good? (defining good: low on the viruses high on quantity of content)

when the album list comes up just look uncheck which songs you dont want... but for ****s and gigs sake, i like to use limewire pro, havent had a problem ever and ive been using it since it joined the internets

torrent ftw and yes you can choose which files you want before DLing. Of course, this is all hearsay and in no way have I done this personally.

I've never had a problem but I don't think it protects much or at all against viruses.

peerguardian i believe is a program that runs with your torrent program to either block or scramble your ip address so its harded for the feds to find you

peer guardian takes known spyware, education, government, etc. IP addresses and blocks your computer from connecting to them during P2P download sessions. basically, disallows big brother from watching what you download, because you'll have never downloaded anything straight from them.
