The truck has been a work truck since my dad bought it new in 1996.
Truck has about 69k miles only. Would make a great tow rig/work truck.
Exterior...
standard cab, long bed. The body is beat, both doors are damaged to the point they need replacement(repair is out of the question). Pass fender is messed up, pass headlight broken but i do have a brand new complete assembly. front and rear bumpers are both messed up. Truck bed is scratched/dented all over. has a bed liner but even that has seen better days. tailgate is dented scratched and has fallen off the truck several times. pass side rocker is dented in a little. All damage was due to work related loading unloading, or my dad driving into things before he wasnt allowed to drive anymore.(pass door was a light post base, driver door got snagged on a wall while he was backing up with it open etc.) both taillights cracked up, but brand new ones are cheap.
Interior...
vinyl bench seat, ripped on drivers side. Vinyl floor(no carpet), interior is dirty as would be expected for a work truck but it can clean up decent, just the headliner is dirty and falling. Truck was ordered with almost no options... NO A/C, am/fm radio only. I since switched in a oem am/fm/tape headunit, but seems to randomly work due to a power issue, i can fix it though, just never did. Heater blower motor quit, just havent gotten around to replacing that yet. manual windows etc.
Drivetrain...
2wd, 5.9L intercooled cummins 12v engine, allison trans(rebuilt at 35k). It has the OD on/off switch on the dash for the trans. rear is 4.10 gears with an open carrier(non posi) and im not sure the exact rear diff sizing but if it helps any its with the heavy duty 8 lug axles. Average MPG is around 18-20.
Ive used the truck for work after my dad stopped driving and then i used it mainly to tow and pick up cars i bought. But now its just been sitting around with me up in NY and now over here. It tows GREAT. the cummins has more than enough power to pull stuff. My denali used to struggle with even a loaded open car trailer. This Ram goes up hills with a full load no issues, When the turbo kicks in, it rocks. Years back I installed a Class 3 frame mounted reciever hitch and it has just a flat 4 trailer connector, i never needed to add electric brakes option with the stuff i towed.
Basically as the whole truck sits now, with a complete service(oil change fuel filters, new wipers, etc) its good to go. I just have no use for it since im trying to sell my small encolsed trailer as well. The race car i just bought will need a larger trailer but that wont be a few years till that race car is ready so i figure ill buy a cheap tow rig down the line eventually.
as you may be able to see in the pic, i had in the past bought a dually bed with plans to also getting a dually axle and doing the conversion. when i joined the army, i gave that up and sold off the dually bed. i do still have a dually fuel filler hose, lol.
