The 2010 stang actually isnt that bad I just hate the tail lights there soo ugly. They drive nice and they handel good sideways:twisted: I was just dissapointed that Ford only bumped them up 15hp over the 09, so it has 315hp it should be in the 400 range, but once they bump it up it should beat the new camaro

if you want to be technical. the new camaro isnt an f-body. its an aussie car wearing an american car name. i can look at that pic that was posted and can say without a doubt...id rather own that sn95 than a new camaro. the only way a new camaro will join my stable is if it comes stock with a blower.

Actually, the chassis designation in the VIN for the Camaro is "F".
Thats something every Camaro, from 1967 to present, have. It is an "F" body.
What really is an Fbody if nothing more then a Vin code?

camaro shares its platform with a four door. want heritage? go tell me the last time a camaro shared its platform with a 4 door. i also didnt say ttops were NECESSARY...but it would have been nice.



in the last few years ford has done a better job than chevy at turning around their image. the live axle also helps cut some costs too.

camaro to me lost is pony car roots. its supposed to be bang for your buck. back when the 4th gen lt1 and ls1 cars were romping around the avg sedan was a boring plastic throwaway with a boring v6 doing high 16s on the 1/4 mile. now even the camry runs in the 14s.

40k bucks for a car that does the same thing as my old 98 did doesnt impress me one bit. id rather take the mustang that does it for 10 grand cheaper and gets me a higher model :nod:

The entire car carried the full 5-year/50,000-mile warranty and was fully street-legal. With the factory's stock dual exhausts and tires, it turned low 13s; headers, slicks, and tuning got it into the 11.6s at 122 mph. Chevy never built a quicker production car.




headers, slicks and some tuning with a terminator and 11s is possible. how about we componsate the slicks for drag radials and toss in some pulleys too???

Third gen gets its chassis design from the X bodies of teh late 70's.
4th gens were just a revision of the third gen.


in the last few years ford has done a better job than chevy at turning around their image. the live axle also helps cut some costs too.

Bang for the Buck? Do you remember what LS1 SS cars cost back in 2002? I do, they cost as much as the current SS does now!!! 30k!!! Thas back in 2002 money.
And even more, do you remember what Mustang GT's cost? Under 25k.

Your "average" sedan comparision is ********, and you are using numbers to justify your comparision.
First off, your average 4 cyl midsized sedan like the Camry made 120-140, and running 17's at best. But V6 models produced power at and around 200hp, right in line with what the base model V6 Camaro put out in 1995.
Now we move fowad to today's cars.
Average midsized sedan with a 4cyl makes 175hp and runs 16's.
The average midsized sedan with a V6 now makes hp in the 260hp all the way up to 290hp. They run all in the 14's. The Camry has 268hp, and weighs in at 3300lbs. The horsepower wars have also kept up in other parts of the automotive world. The new Buick LaCrosse gets the same V6 that is found in the Camaro, making 285hp or around there. A Buick! Havent seen a 285hp+ Buick since....and im talking about advertised.
Your "average" sedan is a bit more above average compared to 5-10 years ago.

40k bucks for a car that does the same thing as my old 98 did doesnt impress me one bit. id rather take the mustang that does it for 10 grand cheaper and gets me a higher model :nod:

And further more, they are of equal comparision.
Both are higher end sports coupes, making 350hp or more, with IRS, 6spd manual trans, and upgraded interior.
They were priced about the same, at least MSRP vs MSRP.
Both were low production units geared at the higher end performance coupe market. Trim, no trim. Model, no model. They are aiming for the same people.

That picture is a few years old now I guess? That was before all new suspension. I think that was when I just picked up the new rims/tires.
It looks different now. I actually just put a new intake on, and as of the other day, it just wouldnt start. Ill have to play with it on Saturday if it isnt too bad outside.

The new Mustang is ugly, especially the back of it. The new SUV-tire clad and bloated Camaro looks nicer to me.

Well, the Nova and Camaro share as much as the Commodore and Camaro do.
Camaro's suspension parts are much larger, to handle the added stress that they knew the car would be put through, not to mention the longer dash/axle ratio. Tie rods, strut rods, ball joints, everything is bigger on the Camaro. But is swappable to the G8/Commodore.
While the Camaro and Commodore share a similar platform, neither car could be made in the other's factory.
