I was working on the Buick the other day and I got the death clunk...So0o0o I ordered a stroker kit, and I have a shop building me a TH350 with a lock up 3200 stall. just need a 12 bolt rear, control arms, adjustable QA1s, eibach lowering kit, tubular front end, slicks/skinnies, fiber glass hood, plastic front bumper (GN style, I have a steel), hard core WR on the interior, and I'm good I figure I only need another 6K in parts and I'll be good. my goal is to hit 9s. I have BBC in the near future for the car, but for now I want to see what I can squeeze out of the 350(388 soon)

Mike

bubba428

roll cage shouldn't be that high, summit has a weld in kit for 169... I'll do that my self.

on a side note I now have TWO 010 blocks...I wonder if I can fuse them like a GT90......(joke) so now the question is do I do the stroker now, or do I put together 1 running engine and get it on the road and then build something over the top? or do I build 2 crazy ass engines?

summit does NOT have a cage for 9.99 and faster for that price, and doing it yourself WILL NOT be good enough.

whatever doesnt matter, wont ever happen

Not to mention the fact you need to pass cert. before you can even attempt to run that car.

If you have all of this cash why don't you start with a better chassis?

why you would trust your life with a $169.00 roll cage? mines got over 3500 bucks into it. remember you get what you pay for.

help...nah...I may not give a damn, but the way I see it, its not like i'm endangering anyone but myself. now if i was out street racing or driving around drunk, yea ok, i'd be a d-bag. but if I use substandard parts that cause my own harm, on a race track, where i'm the only one at risk, thats different.

You have no one that loves you? *

Depends on you?

Etc.

Selfish thinking on your part.

* Could be entirely not though too...

we all got to go eventually...if it gonna happen now its gonna happen now....hell, i'm sitting here with a bottle of 151 and 101 bourbon mixing the 2 (tasty btw) I could slip fall and break my neck (kitchen is raised) while cooking my burgers...hell I could get run into doing a service call on RT30 in the city. look if I really wanted to I'd just wrap PVC pipe in foam so it looks like a cage, cause you know atco tech don't give a ****, and run like that

as i started reading that one post, i knew you were drinking, then you said it

you could cause property damage, down time for other racers, hit another racer, or injure/kill spectators or personnel. its not just you on the track ya know....

I was waiting for that response...NOW you tell me how a $169 roll cage will help protect spectators or other racers in the event of a roll? it won't, if the car rolls theres down time either way, if it hits to other car you tell me how MY cage will protect him?

a properly built cage will become part of the vehicles overall structure thus lessening the chance of having a yard sale through my face.
