whats a bendix? and i was hoping fora cheaper fix.oh well
my 85 iroc has the same issue. Ive swapped in a new starter and still does it. Ive thought it was the clutch switch on the pedal or the ignition switch, but i didnt drive it enough to worry about it so i never looked into it.

did yours get worse over time?
i barely drove the car, just like 20 times, so i didnt notice how bad it was getting or such, just remember needing to keep turning the key a bunch of times, pushing the clutch in and out, tapping on the starter etc and it just would finally start, no ryhme or reason. i was going to check the wires for the clutch switch
