Not to defend Plax, but he shoots himself in the leg and gets two years. Stallworth gets behind the wheel drunk and kills someone and gets 24 days...something not right here?

The gun was legal... just not in New York.
I believe he had a Conceal carry permit in Florida. And he had a permit for it in NJ. But nothing in New York.

probably to send a message out there to the rest of society not to carry weapons when you shouldnt be carrying weapons

hence.... it wasn't legal
also, even with a legal conceal carry permit, your not allowed to carry when consuming alcohol, and also must semi annually qualify on safety/accuracy courses.... which means DONT PUT IT IN YOUR ****ING WAISTBAND

Even with a CCP, you can't bring a gun to a bar right?

i agree, but in the stallworth case he paid the family of the person he killed an undisclosed amount of money which i'm sure helped influence his sentence. still don't make it right, just saying.
as for burress..........the NY DA was determined to put him in jail. he had no chance of not serving time.
he deserves what he got. i don't feel bad for him one bit. just another idiot !!

I agree. And it's a shame because he really was a talented wide receiver. Career is now done.

If he was a nobody and shot himself no one would of even battered an eyelid about it, let alone make even backpage news.

Stallworth may only have gotten 24 days but his sentence after jail is VERY severe. Not discounting what he did but it's a ton more than 24 days in jail.
