I think a lot of people have...whether it be every day people, our politicians or the rest of the world. Obviously we shouldn't dwell on it every day but I think we've just moved on very quickly...I don't know...

thank you!!! I'm not saying anything bad about it, i do care about this eventful day, it's been etched into my mind, I remember in a very detailed way what I was doign when it happened, but what I'm sick of is the news runnign the same old ****, tryign to associate everything bad with 9/11, or when somethign bad happens, they try to compare it to 9/11, I'm just tired of hearing never forget when everyday it is ran through some media.

stop watching the news.
seriously. and tone it down a bit. tony isn't trying to stir **** up, he's just offering a gentle reminder that we should never forget the atrocities of this day in 2001. take half a chill pill.
there's also a day in february that you shouldn't forget. it was the "test run", the first bombing. when they realized that a bomb in the basement wouldn't bring the towers down, they went for a more dramatic situation.
there have only been three occasions when someone had the balls to attack us on our own soil. of course you remember pearl harbor, hawaii, december 7. then there was the bomb in the basement on february 26, 1993. and lastly, 9/11/01. they all deserve reverence and remembrance.

eh, he's entitled to his opinion, he's entitled to voice said opinion regardless if people agree with it or not.
I still remember that day, I still miss the people I knew that perished, I still feel bad for the friends that had business that were utterly destroyed due to the economic fallout. Sucks.

Where have I disrespected this thread? I said nothing disrespectful. if you think so, your opinion. I didnt say yay one for the terrorist, I didnt say only 3,000 people? no, this day is a sad day indeed, but people make this day out to be a holiday ( i.e. news, newspapers) when this should be a day to reflect, an honor those who gave their lives, from the flight 93 passengers, to the police and fire dept who were caught up and perishd in this. Will I forget? no, will others? sadly yes, do people whore off of this dreadful day? all the time ( news, politicians, etc), and thats what I'm sick of, and of course then you have 20 poeple tell you not to forget, well it's kinda hard to when I myself watched in school in horror before they made us turn off the television.
And frosty, thank you.

if blacdout has any respect for the people who were affected by 9/11 either directly or indirectly he will stop making idiotic remarks in this thread, if you have a problem then state it through private messages to the people whom you have problems with. this thread was started to remember 9/11 and those who lost their lives or were affected by the tragedy not to stir up an argument.
9/11 will never be forgotten nor should it be forgotten

who has forgotten about the timothy Mcveigh bombing that seams to have all but vanished from every ones minds since 9/11.
I doubt anyone could truly forget what happened they just choose to push it out and ignore it.

I guess I'm in the minority in this thread, but I am reading into what he said differently. I happen to agree. Many of us were affected in one way or the other. I was directly affected by the Pentagon attack moreso than NY.
This day should always be remembered. And we should also always respect and honor our servicemen and women who are fighting to prevent future catastrophes.
However, I strongly believe that the news media does an extremely big disservice to the reverence by playing footage on loop and constantly pushing the day on us. Politicians do the same by ****ing the memory into a way to push their own agendas. I do NOT want to see the footage, I do NOT want to hear an Alan Jackson or Darryl Worley song, and I do NOT want to relive the whole experience play by play. I want to remember those who died and the countless amount of people that were affected. I have never forgotten how our way of life changed and how things will never be the same as they were on Sept 10. This is a day of national sadness and a big black eye in our history. It should not be celebrated and used as a chance for people to make money on broadcasting or ad revenue.
I don't think there is anybody on here who would say that this is a day we should let pass without a thought. And I don't think anyone would come in here being dismissive or disrespectful, either. If anybody starts ****, expect the ban hammer with no warning.

NEVER FORGET :usa:
im gonna stay mute on my opinions on the subject and whats been said so far, but just to share a fact, over here.. not one word was said or mentioned about "today" all day. mainly because its not needed, here we remember 24/7/365. But i also remember dates like july 21 2009, when our battalion lost 4 fine soldiers to these bastards over here, and several other dates are in my head as well. for us its not a once a year thing so dont complain you hear too much about it. As u can expect, ill take this much more personally than most so i will refrain from posting again in this thread just to avoid any issues.
and btw, ive been shot at and blown up... its all very personal now over here.

Ill take what Blackout and Bill are talking about and isolate it that i dont like it when people try to profit off of it, either financally or politicly.
But I also know what people outside of this direct area, this is just something that they saw on the news. I remember going to college in Mass, only 2 hrs away from the city, and people just really being indifferent about it, and it was only a year after.
People dont forget, but people dont care anymore I guess is a way of putting it.
Most Americans dont wish ill will towards others, or wish any ill will on the troops, but most Americans just are having another day at work.
I dont mind the ceremonies for thoes who died, or thoes who have given thier lives to protect this nation, but this country has been through so much in our short time that we just continue to move foward. Not forgetting because they chose too, but because we as a nation move on, but keep our loved ones and thoes who serve to protect us in our hearts at all times.
If people are going to take advantage of that by trying to leverage it to make us do something, accept certain things, and give up certain rights in the name of freedom, then ********.
