i am about to enter the monmouth county police academy and as part of me getting all ready for it, i want to start eating properly too. does anyone have any idea on the best foods to eat before and after the academy? (its at night) one of my friends said to have a high carb. dinner before the academy and have high protein after, by high carb. he suggested a pasta dinner an by protein he suggested chicken. is this a good idea or are there any better ideas?
thanks

That doesnt sound like a bad idea, the acadamy is going to take a lot out of you so keeping up on calories and protein is a good idea. Not sure how mobile you'll be after a large pasta dinner though, it always slows me down. I think as long as you stay away from the generic fast food places you'll be alright

1.) Make sure to take a good multivitimin!
2.) Always, always, always have carbs with your protein. Good carbs- like rice and whole wheat
3.) Getting some protien powder or recovery drink and drinking it after a day will help
4.) REST

Sleep, avoid greasy foods, fruits/vegetables, sleep.

What do you do if its only a night thing?

I missed that.

Skip the pasta before your training. If it is intense you may have trouble digesting and then it's puke city.

if you want, i can write up a diet for you. i use 3X5 index cards, since it's easier to bind them together and all of the info you need is on the dront of the card.

first you will want to shed some weight - no matter what the scale says. then you'll want to maintain your muscle mass, and that is much more difficult to do while undergoing intensive training.

all i need to know is how much you weigh and what you think your ideal weight is. we can do it by PM if you want. you'll want to copy the diet onto 3X5 index cards, or if it's better for you, a small notepad, wound with wire (you've seen the small notepads for sale in stationery stores).

a word of warning, you'll want to stock up on chicken breast, eggs and fresh vegetables.
