Pete's Steak House, supposed to be the real deal. Whitehorse Ave. on the point, a couple of lights north of the Whitehorse Circle. Used to be called Monti's Bar. Also had a joint in Ewing, but not sure if that is run by the original owners anymore. The place is always packed.
They got an old Caddy sitting out front, I'm thinking 1959 or so? Bring the AMX, they'll appreciate that.
Peace

Yeah that place is OK. I had the onion rings there and I thought they were pretty good especially since I dont like onions.
There is a place on Rt 33 down by the Subaru dealer. Called Gaetano's or something, spelling may be off. They have a large which is 17" inches, they take a long time to cook it though but I had one this weekend with mushrooms and A1 sauce.
Hopefully it may live up to your standards.

I ran by Pete's today, since it's a little closer to my route to work than Gaetano's. The place was packed, and parking was a beyotch. But the cheese steak turned out to be decent, just coulda been a 'lil bigger. The bar tender was cool, and I wished I coulda stuck around and ate there instead of getting it to go. I'll prolly head back there when I have time to sit and eat and drink a few beers.

That is a little far from where USG works. I think that would have to be a day trip for him rather than a lunch/dinner break

Too bad...even though it's on a Sunday I'll be working. I love Jersey Mike's subs. When I was working up in Kearny one of my partners who lives in Pt Pleasant used to bring me up Jersey Mike's subs. They are pretty tasty.
And back on the cheese steak front, my partner up here in Pennsyltucky told me about a place called "Chink's steaks" that is supposed to be da bomb. But they are over in South Philly. Eh, guess I'll just take a long lunch and roll over there some night.

Yeah, thanks for the heads up about Pete's. I was jonesin' to have a couple of beers while I was there, but I was going to work. Jack the bar keep is a nice guy, and the crowd there was nice. I had a nice chat about baseball with a couple of the doods at the bar. I'm gonna try and head over there one night after work so I can have a few and eat a steak.

any pizza place in hamilton makes a decent steak. just stay away from the colombians that try to pass themselves off as italians.

I can make the same cheese steaks as Subway at work in our 1970's Radar Range antique microwave, but with more meat and a cheaper price.

I worked at the Pete's on Olden Ave in Ewing for two years (about ten years ago). At the time it was still operated by the son of the original owner, and his business partner (who used to live in the apartment above the one in Ewing).
We actually used to get several complaints from people wanting a chopped philly-style steak since ours were more like pattys. They are good though.....
IIRC, one of the girls I used to work with in Ewing manages the other one with her husband now, but AFAIK it's all still owned by Pete's son Rich.

geatano's steaks and subs. 224 pennypacker drive willingboro. probably the best cheesesteak i ever had. and the owner has a 69 z28 and one of the early 454 SS pickups with a 502 in it.

I am going to have to disagree with the gaetano's people. I make a better cheesesteak with steak ums. It was crap.

I used to go to Larry's all the time, off of City Ave. Walking distance when I was an undergrad.
Regular steaks were good but Pat's and Genos were better. Larry's really shined with their chicken pizza steak. Damn are those good.

Screw Pat's and Geno's. They're decent but overrated. Hit up Tony Luke's on Oregon Ave for a good steak or better yet, for their roast pork and sharp provolone. MMMMMMM
