If this is the tire you are talking about, I have a set on my SS and they are incredible tires. Last a long time and great performance. I am on a hunt for another set actually as we speak, they are just costly but very much worth it.

The only F1's I've had experience with is the Supercar series that came on the CTS-V in 2004-2005. The tires handled extremely well but didn't last very long. Both customers had to replace them at less than 20k miles. They were summer only tires also, which didn't make the customers too happy.

I have nothing bad to say about them, except for the high price.

The F1 A/S I would really recommend unless you can get them for a steal... They don't wear well and get REAL noisey after about 12k miles.
The regular GS tires arent anything to write home about either...

The TA is a summer only weekend cruiser with a little bit of track.

I have sold the F1 A/S's to a lot of people, never heard of complaints.
I liked them as a solid alternative to the Mich Pilot A/S and A/S2 if there was a price complaint.
the F1 GSD3's are great too, but can be pricey
There are a lot of tires out there for the ultra performance segment.
Bridgestone RE050A's, Pilot Sport 2's would be your high end performance stuff
Bridgestone RE960's are a great great all season performance tire, another alternative to the F1 AS and Pilot AS.

what would be the BEST street/strip combo tire
does not need to be all season

you'd be ahead of the game with 4 matched street tires & a set of drag hoops on rims for the track.

Yeah that's the plan for the future, but for now I can't afford a set of slicks plus tires for my 18" wheels.
I know there are a few semi slick tires that are also decent street tires I think falken makes a set but I can't recall the name.
I can get a discount on any tire that sears has or can order.

buy the street tires now and deal with the drags later

60% off retail? Which Sears do you work at again?
You are talking about the Falken FK-452's. I put a set on NJSpeeder's car over a year ago. They are pretty sticky tires, and for the price they arent too bad actually. They are summer tires only too. You should have taken advantage of F&F Sunday.
Whatever you do...dont get the Sears card. Ive seen better interest rates from Tony the nose...

might be thinking of the rt-615. good autox tire. be a good summer/weekend tire probably. not sure what sizes they come in, but last i checked sears carried them at least in a 17"

checkout these tires. i bought them in april and drive my car everyday hard and just got them rotated and they still had more than half tread. the best tire i ever used. you dont have to be scared to rip on it when its wet. seems like they always want to grab.

Yes that is the tire, I'm looking for tires for summer use only so those would be ideal.
Sears carries them int he 17 but can order them in any size.
