ran across a thread on tech a guy is selling a turbo i made an offer of 500 on his posted price of 750 and I got these replies over night.
well i cant except paypal because i no longer put my accounts on there because i have had money stolen from my accounts through them could you gather up another 50 bucks within the week ?? And mail me a money order?? Let me know only reason im asking for 550 is because its gonna cost me about 45 bucks to ship.
that one didn't toss any major flags but less then an hour later with out me responding to the guy he sent this one
tell ya what mail me a money order this week for whatever you can over 500 dollars and i will ship the turbo out to you as soon as i get it. Cant find a better deal your getting the turbo for pretty much half price and its brand new. So mail me a money order for any amount over 500 to 40017 94th st genoa city wi 53128 and i will ship the turbo out same day i receive the money order. Let me know if this works for you.
I will email you the tracking number once i ship it and also i have two different addresses but its the same house its ****ed up i know so Mail the money order to me to the above address dont ship it otherwise its a different address.
My gut says to avoid at all costs

Yep he'll have some ridiculous excuse why he cant do it if hes a scammer. Or just call the house, I'm sure if the guy is just looking to sell it and is in a tight spot he'll understand your concern.
I wont lie I've been kinda frantic and odd sounding like that when I really need to buy or sell something.

That sucks, what happened?
I always pay with credit card through paypal so if I don't get what I ordered I file a chargeback through the credit card and bypass paypal altogether.
Paypal sucks for sellers but is decent for buyers.

If you don't feel good about it, I wouldn't do it. Gotta go with your gut feeling. The Paypal excuse sounds fishy too.

here is the easiest way to beat this thing if he is a scammer.
just ask him to send it c.o.d. via ups. tell him you will give him the $550.00 for it plus the $7.50 c.o.d. charge and it will be paid with money order/cashiers check on delivery. this way everyone is safe, and your excuse will be that you have to do this cause you have been beat before so doing it c.o.d. covers both parties,

That and the other pm saying ANY amount over 500.00 seemed fishy to me.

well I said I can pick it up this weekend or he could send it COD as I have been burned in the past; that was last night and I have yet to get a response from him.
First gut instinct correct I'd say.
