There is no doubt I will be putting down some money on this new car. I actually love it and hopefully it can be made on a convertible too. Someone is actually building a trans am!!!

If it had the 4 headlamps instead of the 2 it would have been even better, but I still like it and I will have one. Already registered as soon as I can put in an order I will.

So are they paying the licensing fees for the name?

It gives you an option of wether you provide the car or they get the car. And also you can purchase the kit seperate also. So depends on the camaros options you get plus the kit. An esimate of 55,000 to 60,000 is the number for now. I have already dumped that into my current bird lol. Definately looking forward to getting mine.

i dont understand why gm put such a high price on the new camaro. thats what made the cars so great was the bang for your buck. i personally couldn't see spending that much. i looked at a ss and it was 42 when the sticker on my 99 z28 was only 22 loaded. but good luck hope you enjoy it

In 1968 you could buy a house in Chicago for 16,800 with AC and a basement - damn those bastards for raising the price and not keeping it at the 1968 level!!!

yea and in 2004 a house that was worth a half mil is now only worth 250. all im saying is with the economy the way it is i think keeping the car around 30 or 35 would have increased the volume of sales substantially. I know i would probably have had one sitting in the drive way by now

Yeah the prices are high. I do get a hook up on GM cars where I can order factory direct and not get any hassle through the dealers. So I wont be paying none of the mark ups at all. I will be paying what the dealer pays for the car.

The SS Camaro stickers at $31,000 so it falls in the range you mentioned. The new Z28 with the supercharged engine will be closer to $50K but that's because they don't want everybody buying one of them. They basically flip flopped the SS and Z28 with the Z28 being the top of the line. I would expect a custom built car like that Trans Am to have some extra overhead especially if they have to get it EPA certified. Not sure who would be carrying the warranty on it either.

the 2 lights doesnt bother me. i think the grill shouldnt be thiner and the point be less gerastic of a drop. then it would look good. and it needs some new exhaust tips!

the one ss starts at 30,xxx, and the 2ss starts at 33xxx....

i don't know why people forget this but in 2002 the ss cars sticker prices were over thirty as well.....

i think the company would warranty the work they do, and chevy maybe doing the warranty the drivetrain considering the company is paying to use the name

No matter what you call it, the title is still going to say Chevrolet Camaro.

You significantly underestimate the stupidity of an average human being. You're in customer service/hotel management position, you should know this!

bobbyn362 - Don't confuse the crazy dealer markups with the actual MSRP of the car. You can get a nicely equipped 2010 Camaro SS in the mid $30k range if you shop around a little bit.

Pontiac is the Elvis of the car industry! Nobody wants to believe it's dead, and all the imitators, no matter how good, are still obviously fake.

Rather than complain about the thread, enjoy the fact that someone is willing to put money down to purchase another GM vehicle, whether its dressed up or not. He's excited about the possibility of owning a kit car, like thousands of other folks who own kit cars. His purchase of an American car, with an Amreican made car kit, helps keep people employed, plus helps him continue to enjoy some semblance of Pontiac even though it's gone. I'd like to own another car with a firechicken on the hood too.

Enjoy the car when you get it!

Very well said buddy. No matter what anyone says and I could careless that pontiac is dead. It will still be alive in me and in that new Trans am. If there paying to use the name guess what? Its a damn pontiac Trans am. Since its inception Camaro and Firebird have always shared the same platform and drivetrain. So why should it bother anyone now? This is a must have for me that will be in reason that I can afford. Things like the year one bandit car that sell at 200,000 its way out of my price range. This is not just another Trans am thread its a reality thats going to be built though it wont be till the end of next year but hey the best thing comes to those who wait.

Won't be a Pontiac. It will be registered as a Chevrolet Camaro. They have only shared drivetrains since the 3rd gens.

DMV is a crapshoot, I've had 4Runners titled as wagons and also trucks. It comes down to the initial title and how the form was filled out. There's no such thing as an SUV.

:werd: My '01 Cherokee says "wagon" on the registration, and my '88 Monte says "2 dr." - not sure why they classify Ryan's mom's Eclipse as a sedan. I always though sedan = 4 doors, and coupe = 2 doors?

Nope. Although that's the generally accepted definition, doors with posts = sedan and just glass = coupe. You can have 2 door sedans and 4 door coupes.
