View Full Version : Dammit Charlie, you're an idiot!

Anybody could have told you to leave Pedro in the game, especially with the way the bullpen has been pitching! But no, you have to play your stupid games with 500 relief pitchers in the 8th inning! And even dumber, you bring Happ in the game with the bases loaded! :-x You can't bring a starter in the game like that with the bases loaded. :nono: It just shows how good the team is to get this far just like last year with an idiot making the calls! And it sure looks to me like Chase Utley is injured or something is wrong, he's only made like 20 high throws in the last 3 games. I sure hope the rest of the team can pick up the slack for a lousy manager and still pull it out!

yea seriously what was with the 500 different pitchers? that was just rediculous, and also goes to show how much confidence, he does not have in his pitchers

I thought he was having a "nam" flashback...

He kept saying Pedro was wiped. I don't know. It's easy to play Monday morning quarterback. You can't really blame Park, Feliz should have had the first play in the inning, the bunt was just a freak thing.

The Dodgers still haven't won a game, they Phillies have one win and beat themselves tonight.

I will say this, it's absolutely PATHETIC that there were empty seats in a NLCS game.

Like Tony said, sure we can all ask wtf...well, you guys can, Im happy, but the man had what...2 hits on him all game?
17 days since his last outing...you dont throw him into a 100+ pitch game.
The rest of the team lost it for them. I cant belive they lost it.

The miss by Feliz was probably because of the shadow right in his face on the infield. Park pitched ok but overplayed the bunt. The error by Utley is a huge problem they need to figure out real quick or they won't be going to the World Series. Pedro threw 130+ pitches in the double header game against the Mets back in Sep. You have to leave him in and when he allows a baserunner then you pull him out. The worst part was the pinch hitter for the pinch hitter who then hit into a double play! :-x

See Red Sox v Yankees, October 2003, and ask again if Pedro should have pitched the 8th. :)

Did Utley catch knobloch disease?

I personally would have left him in but the Phillies have been doing the same thing for the last 2+ years. Starter until the 8th(usually) and set up guy in the 8th and Lidge in the 9th.

Like I said I would've left Pedro in but you know if he gave up a solo homerun or something we all would've been blasting Charlie for leaving in a pitcher with a 120+ pitch count.

Utley can't throw. He just bounced an easy one to 1st. But Mr Howard is hitting when it counts.

Yeah Chase is struggling in the field for some reason. Very out of character for him.

Typical Phils, lose the low scoring 1 run game, then come back and score 8+ runs. Now tonight they will struggle to score 2 runs probably. When Lee gets on a roll, he can really pitch well. I was surprised to see Werth and Victorino hit those homeruns that far though considering it was 40 or colder during the game.

lee pitched a great game...just what our bullpen needed. the bats came alive too. lets hope they can keep that up.

Why did the pen need that? Because it sucks? They certainly are not overworked, especially after a day off

a little bit of confidence reinstilled in charlie manuel and not playing roullette with the rotation again.

Yeah, somehow they find a way to get it done again!

BTW, Joe Giradi is an idiot. He is micromanaging the pen. Really? 2 outs & no one on you make a change? If they don’t win game 2 in the 12th he was out of pitchers because of his incessant matchups. Argh. Leave the guy getting out in the game!

Phills need to stop showboating and stick a fork in these guys. one night it's 11-0, next night they pull it out of their ass, they're not consistant, and need to do that if they want to win the championship again.

Yeah, none of these managers are doing a very good job right now. And no team looks to be any more dominant than the others so hopefully it will be a good finish to the season.

Yeah, bats are coming alive! I'm worried about Hamels, he was serving up batting practice last night. :-? Maybe they should put him in the bullpen and start Happ instead!

The Yankees scare the hell out of me but what a series it would be. I'm sure MLB is looking for that match up too, I'm sure it'd bring in some damn good ratings.

neither of the AL teams worry me. especially with our bats on fire like this. yankees/phillies seems the most interesting option.

They're still the Yankees and they're a damn good team. "IF" it ends up being a Phils/Yanks series it's going to be one hell of a series.

The biggest problem for the Phils will be the lack of a real DH. I'm guessing Francisco will play left against a lefty and Raul will DH and Raul will play left against a righty and Stairs will DH. Dobbs might get a chance, but he hasn't done much this year.

Frosty
10-22-2009, 03:09 PM
I hate the idea of a DH, stupid rule the AL has.

Yeah, I'd put Fransisco out there since he's faster in the field.
